You should probably give us Rochester at the beginning. I had to randomly guess around to find out where the chain started.

I do. It's in the "Source" link.

Hollywood isn't a city. "Oxnard" works just as well as "Oakland." "Hanford" works for the Hollywood one. Probably there are other alternate answers that work.

Yeah some of them require a lot of random guessing. Although I missed Oakland....I skipped ahead and got lucky and then worked around. California, starts with an "O" ends with a "D" all I could think of were Oxnard and Orland..

If you're going to accept either San Francisco or San Diego, you should accept Sacramento.

Sacramento can also work for the first California answer. There are a few others, but that along with the given answers are the most common. Other than that, solid quiz.

California has too many cities LOL. I'll make some additions, but I don't want to add too many, and as chase said it's possible to work around the bumps.

Hollywood is a district within Los Angeles, it is not a city unto itself. I really enjoyed the concept of the quiz, but it just needs a little bit of fine-tuning.

There's also a Decatur in Alabama.

And Rochester, Minnesota

Really I think it would be better to just accept one answer per question. Just because there are several answers that would technically work doesn't mean they're the answers you're looking for in *your* quiz, after all. Besides, there's plenty of time.

Instead of stretching things for Hollywood, you could change "California" to "Connecticut" and make Hartford that answer.

pick a different city for the last one, or last two since the second to last isn't a city and it's a decent quiz.

I don't know what the dataset would look like, but a game like this would be really cool if the player started with their own word and tried to see how far they could get without running out of options. States would still be defined. i.e. Rochester Roanoke ...uh.uh..Elk Rapids... Yeah I'll let the Google Bots work that one out.

i didn't see the source link until after, and i'm glad. i think it's more fun when you figure out the first city on your own. i started with a state i figured there weren't a lot of big options for.
