Austin, Texas is named for Stephen F. Austin.

Are you suggesting he be on the list instead of Houston, or be an alternative answer? I can do the latter no problem, because I believe Houston is correct too.

Nice list; might I suggest adding legendary playwright Tennessee Williams?

haha the canadian guy is that his real name? that's awesome

Yeah, I think Stephen F. Austin should be acceptable for the Texan revolutionary clue, and I would also suggest than Alan Jackson be an acceptable answer for the 3rd clue, because he has a song called "Country Boy" and shares his last name with several cities (Jackson, Mississippi, for example).

i think alan jackson could also work for "American singer-songwriter and 'Country Boy'"...one of his songs is called "country boy"

Alright, Austin and Jackson are now acceptable, and Williams has been added. He replaces the least gotten answer, Georgia O'Keeffe.

for the clues with multiple answers you need to accept just one of them. the way you have it now, you cant get them with a single answer.

Ironically, Tom Canada, defensive end in the Canadian Football League, is NOT, in fact, Canadian. He's from Iowa. :o)

I'd suggest putting Georgia O'Keeffe back in -- she fits the category perfectly and helps round out the range of professions & time frames. She's a pretty well-known artist; I suspect some people missed her because her last name is tough to spell. If you wanted to make it easier for people to guess her, you could always accept variations on O'Keeffe (like O'Keefe), though my personal preference is for spelling to count (it's how I learned to spell Kyrgyzstan, after all).

For the famous Texan revolutionary, my first guess was Dallas, so that's how I got the vice president under Polk.
