Very creative quiz, good job!
Sep 23rd, 2009 at 17:50 GMT
Really great idea for a quiz, loved it. However, the Texans have also never had consecutive winning seasons.
Sep 23rd, 2009 at 18:03 GMT
Good point, I've made the hint a little more specific. I'm glad people are enjoying this one so far.
Sep 24th, 2009 at 05:52 GMT
Nice fix. If this quiz goes public I'm sure that comment will get voted down because people will think I just didn't read the clue carefully enough!
Sep 24th, 2009 at 19:54 GMT
Awesome quiz idea. Had me stumped on a few for a bit.

How about the Toronto Maple Leafs who tied then twice broke fewest shots on goal in a playoff game -
in the same playoff game
Two shots on goal in the first, one in the second and none in the third.

Came here after doing your published Yankees captains quiz. Thumbs up.

This is a great idea for a quiz. Surprised more people don't know Prairie View. It's a famous (and awful) stat.
Sep 26th, 2009 at 05:03 GMT
Well, Prairie View is something you either know or will never guess. It's such an obscure school. The others are at least possible to guess the right team if you know something about professional sports.

Got all but the Pats. I was thinking the Cowboys, but their 1-15 season was a bit earlier, I believe. The Pirates last winning season was 1992, so their streak started in 1993. They won the division in 1991 and 1992 and lost in the NLCS to the Braves both years.
Sep 26th, 2009 at 17:14 GMT
The Pirates actually started their streak after '92. They were actually in the playoffs in 1992.
Sep 26th, 2009 at 17:59 GMT
Yeah the Cowboys were 1-15 in 1989; they were outscored by 189. The 17 years for Pittsburgh includes the 2009 season.
Sep 26th, 2009 at 19:28 GMT
Well this was great! I was suprised there aren't a lot more Clevland answers (no championships in the entire city since the Browns in '64 and the Indians in '48)
Sep 26th, 2009 at 19:50 GMT
The Falcons had a winning season last year and are 2-0 to start this season. This could be their year to finally get that monkey off their back.
Sep 26th, 2009 at 21:55 GMT
Baltimore Orioles 0-21 to start the 1988 season is one you can use. great quiz got all but Prairie View.
Sep 27th, 2009 at 04:30 GMT
something about the detroit lions...its gotta be there bills lost 4 straight superbowls, 2 times in a row to the cowboys
Sep 27th, 2009 at 16:36 GMT
A CLEVELAND SPIDERS CLUE! YES! Automatic 5/5. I'd suggest a more specific clue for the NCAAB question- years, or a coach, or something of that ilk.

...and that is why Cubs fans will always lose in an argument with Cards fans.

@hscer... i noticed youre from Mid Atlantic region... that HSC wouldn't happen to stand for Hampden-Sydney College, would it?
Sep 28th, 2009 at 17:59 GMT
I'm a proud fan of my crappy Philadelphia teams.
Sep 28th, 2009 at 18:14 GMT
it does. did/do you go there?
Sep 28th, 2009 at 18:53 GMT
yeah I went there.. thats what the HS in my name stands for. Graduated in 05. OX is because I was in theta chi. Cool stuff
Sep 28th, 2009 at 19:20 GMT
This is more about season stats but if not here then maybe for another quiz: least points scored in an NBA game, and most lopsided loss for each league (NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL). The NFL record is of the 1940 championship game; you can go for the biggest SB loss instead.
Sep 29th, 2009 at 04:40 GMT
@hscer: http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/PIT/ As you can see, the Pirates finished 96-66 in 1992. If you included the 2009 season, that would be 18 years according to your logic.
Sep 29th, 2009 at 04:44 GMT
1. 1993, 2. 1994, 3. 1995, 4. 1996, 5. 1997, 6. 1998, 7. 1999, 8. 2000, 9. 2001, 10. 2002, 11. 2003, 12. 2004, 13. 2005, 14. 2006, 15. 2007, 16. 2008, 17. 2009
Sep 29th, 2009 at 13:16 GMT
Random embarrassing stat (that doesn't really fit in this quiz): the Minnesota Twins are the only major league team to turn two triple plays in one game and still lose.
Sep 29th, 2009 at 20:19 GMT
Exactly...in the quiz you have 1991.
Sep 29th, 2009 at 21:15 GMT
Oops, you're right. I thought you were arguing a different point, that the 17 years figure was off. I apologize, it's fixed now.
Sep 29th, 2009 at 21:31 GMT
How bout adding my alma mater, the Northwestern Wildcats. only BCS conference team never to make it to the NCAA basketball tourney, and only big ten team not to make it to the final four.
Sep 30th, 2009 at 02:19 GMT
@brewcrew - neither have the panthers. You should be forced to match each clue specifically with the answer.

@hscer: It's alright. I still gave the quiz a 5/5.

I like sport quizzes much, but there's too much baseball questions in these quizzes. Baseball is boring game that any +60IQed person wont watch. I have never watched a single MLB game. I've never even played baseball. Only situation when I hold baseball bat in my hands is when I'm going to beat some immigrants. sry for a bad english.
Oct 8th, 2009 at 15:01 GMT
This quiz feels bare without a Detroit Lions mention.
Oct 10th, 2009 at 22:34 GMT
What stealthamo said. Any quiz like this that doesn't mention 0-16 is incomplete.
