| The one thing that I don't like about WAR is that fielding is not taken into account for catchers. Therefore Mauer gets an automatic "0" in that category. I think most would agree he was the most valuable player in baseball last year. And Bdogrox2: Just because you don't like the rankings, does not mean they are crap. Just so you know A-Rod came in at 44th with a WAR of 4.4 (remember this is a counting stat, not a rate stat, so the time A-Rod missed he accounted for a 0 WAR which hurt him) and Sabathia came in at 21st with a 6.0 so just off the list. |
