Hi, hiho. Interesting quiz. But I am hungry is "Ich habe Hunger" and I am thirsty is "Ich habe Durst". I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say you are unable to put in umlauts or ess-zetts, but if you mean you can't find them on your keyboard, just copy and paste the following : ß ä ö ü . Thanks!

Thanks shay; I'm not a native speaker so this is something I tried to pick up from some friends and a book and thought I would share. I will change those, but I don't wish to put in umlauts or ess-zetts mostly because people with english keyboards (i.e. most of us) will be unable to get them right- but I did put a disclaimer.

hiho, that's why sporcle has bonuses: so that you can use the ess-zett and umlauts in the answers you give, but still accept alternative answers without them...

if you're using Windows then the following alt codes work for German characters: alt + 0223 = ß, alt + 129 = ü, alt + 132 = ä, alt + 148 = ö

Please accept just "Wiedersehen". Other than that, gut Quiz!

You should also accept the polite "Wie heissen Sie" for what's your name because you probably wouldn't use du for someone you don't know.
