What defines a major river? The Fox in Iowa and the Meramec in Missouri are much bigger than the Merrimack in New England or the penobscot, for example.....

need a source and some sort of quantitative or qualitative constraint....like length...amount of flow...poplutaion living within 5 miles of...etc.
