Yeah, Scandinavia is apparently newspaper-heavy. The distribution of eastern European languages is also slightly surprising: only Czech, Romanian, and Polish are in, and Polish comes last even though it is the most spoken of all (not speaking about the East Slavs).

How Norwegian, with a mere 5 million speakers, can have almost twice as many newspapers than Chinese, with ~1 BILLION speakers, that I don't understand. And I'm Norwegian myself.

i forget the site but i assume that a lot of chinese newspapers are split between languages like wu as well as mandarin and this cuts down the overall number. The number is for newspapers of that language in any country, which is why spanish and english are so big (different countries speak those languages)

@henstud: China has many forms of spoken language but only one form of written language. Also, please provide the source. Without it, this quiz is completely invalid.
