As with my Harry Potter quiz, this list is by the number of lines in the six films, according to the scripts. This is bound to be different to the 'by word' count, but that would take me too long to work out. Hope you enjoy.

at the risk of sounds like a super nerd, i feel like you should accept "darth sidious" for emperor palpatine.... also, i dont think padme works

@kinga3 - not a problem at all. Both fixed/added.

Similarly, "Darth Vader" should probably be acceptable.

I bet they excluded Chewbacca just because he doesn't speak English.

Missed three as I misread the question and was only thinking about the old trilogy but great quiz. By the way I would imagine these are the lines but can't be sure.

Haha Jar-Jar has more lines than Lando. Poor, poor Lando. Maybe if you hadn't sold out your friends you would've gotten more lines.

Also, just out of curiosity I'd like to see the tally for Chewbacca and R2D2. Just because we don't understand them doesn't mean what they have to say is any less valuable.

@RS89, at the risk of sounding like a super Star Wars nerd, but technically no one speaks English; they're all speaking Galactic Basic and it's translated for our benefit.

This would be a way better quiz if we preteneded the prequel didn't exist.

great quiz. I do think R2D2 might have passed Lando if all his "lines" had been counted, but it would have been pretty close between Chewbacca and Lando @ 99 lines. Chewy is on screen a ton, but he really doesn't speak up all that often, at most 10 or 15 growls/film.

You should be more specific with "lines", and say it has to be English, because otherwise, R2D2 and maybe Chewbacca would be up there. Also, if you have Anakin/Vader, then you should probably be consistent and add Darth Sidious and Chancellor Palpatine to Emperor Palpatine. Otherwise, great quiz!

it seems to me like windu, having been in all three of the prequel movies, would make the list considering some characters were only in one or two. could be wrong of course

I don't understand the answers to this quiz. There were only ever 3 Star Wars movies made, and half of these characters weren't in any of them. I guess I'll just chalk this up to general confusion, sort of like when people insist there were three Matrix movies when everyone knows there was only one.

@ Tube: once u see how many more lines Vader/Anakin has then look, common sense will tell you its all six movies. and even tho it wasnt actual words R2 and chewie should totally be on here.
