	I had thought about using an older Kubrick, but ended up with the younger one, about the time he directed Dr Strangelove and 2001 A Space Odyssey.

	I got thrown off by "industrialist" for Edison. It's apt, but I don't think of him that way.

	I tried to use fairly generic but largely appropriate fields as clues. I never really thought of the Colonel as an industrialist either, but felt that it I put 'fried chicken' as a clue, it would be too obvious!

	@Ney, it's one of the few photographs from that time thought by many sources to be of Vincent, and colour photography was not widely available at that time. It's not as famous as his own self-portraits, but I felt using a photo rather than a painting was more accurate.

	Wow, never saw Kubrick when he was young ! And Platini isn't found a lot because Americans don't care about football. In Europe, he's very famous. For the record, he's the president of the UEFA.

	Yeah, I was surprised at how few people got Platini. He's undoubtedly one of the top 5 most famous footballers ever. I thought about using Pele, the most famous, but thought that would be too easy. Perhaps on hindsight I should have!

	I recognized Platini but thought it couldn't be him as I've never seen him on a Sporcle game (too European-soccer related) so I didn't even try putting his name. I'm glad I got Kubrick (I even saw younger pictures of him where he was totally unrecognizable, fairly handsome actually). As for Vincent Van Gogh's photo, it seems the picture you picked is actually his brother's, Theo Van Gogh. If you compare it to other photos of Theo and to the few of Vincent, you'll see the differences. And on photos or self-portraits Vincent is only known with a full beard or with none, but never with a goatee. Thanks for the game!
