Fun idea. If you know the books of the Bible, this will take you no time. If you don't know them, more time might not help.

77.9% got 9/9. Less than 77.9% got Jude, Amos, Ezra and Joel. Something is amiss.

It's interesting that the 4-letter books are as evenly split between the Hebrew bible and the New Testament as possible, given an odd number of them. The front-page sub-heading for this quiz commented that there were just enough to field a baseball team. But it didn't say which ones would play which positions. Although there's some suggestion in the quiz itself that John would play 1st, 2nd, and 3rd base simultaneously. ;-)

I'm not sure if Acts should really count, since it's Acts of the Apostles. I know the names are just a portion of the title (Gospel According to Luke, for example), but for Acts it just doesn't seem right.

This list would be a lot longer if it was by the books' Hebrew names...

By my count, 13 of the 24 books of the Old Testament are 4 letters in the original Hebrew. So even without two Testaments, it's still more! It helps that vowels aren't letters in Hebrew lol.

Only missed Jude. Guess I need to take a sad song and make it better.

I'm inclined to agree that Acts ought to be a bonus. I think hearing "Acts of Apostles" is far more common than hearing "Revelation to St. John", "Letter to the Hebrews" etc.

I have to disagree. Even though I know it's Acts of the Apostles, I feel like 99% of the time I just hear it called "the book of Acts." Maybe it's a denominational thing?

@socraticmethod: That would be 13 out of 36 books (or 39, if Samuel, Kings and Chronicles are considered 2 books). The traditional count of 24 OT books puts all 12 Minor Prophets together, and Ezra-Nehemiah as well. By that count, there would be 7 four-letter names, as the other six are "minor prophets".

I could have sworn there was a book of Jack.

I had to smile even as I was typing in 'Acts'. I was expecting at most a bonus....thanks for being flexible.
