Official name is simply "Ireland" or "Eire": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Ireland#Name Poor quiz in many ways.

Some of these comments are awful. It is the Republic of Ireland, hence IRL. If you think "It's gold, not orange," you must be color blind. Nonetheless, "Irish" is not a language, it's called "Gaelic."

From the Irish constitution: "The name of the State is Éire, or, in the English language, Ireland" "The national flag is the tricolour of green, white and orange" The language is called Irish , or Gaeilge, but not Gaelic.

Also 10 minutes is far too long for 18 questions

Agree with most of the above comments: "Presedent", You should accept Shannon and UK, and also accept Carrantuohill for Carrauntoohill as that's a common enough spelling.

As an Irish man this quizshould be deleted and (for some of the idiots who commented on this quiz) the flag colours are green, white and orange and the language is IRISH not gaelic. Gaelic is a SPORT!
