| I know this sounds like a simple game at first, but I found it simply amazing how many words rhymed with cat! I hope you enjoy the quiz and good luck. |

| One more thing. If you have a clever title for this quiz, please feel free to tell me in a comment below. Thanks. |

| Fun and challenging! I hope you don't think me a prat, but if Skat refers to the card game, I've always heard it pronounced like Scott. Could be a regional thing, though. |
 | gwukelic: | Apr 24th, 2011 at 04:11 GMT | | 5 points |
| @BombaySapphire: It is true that Skat is sometimes pronounced like Scott, but according to Merriam-Webster, Skat is also pronounced how it looks. Here's the link: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/skat |

| i thought it was easy then i was like whoa! it's hard! |
 | Catherine_F: | Apr 28th, 2011 at 18:30 GMT | | 28 points |
| "Plait" definitely rhymes with cat in my (British) accent. |
 | giveupyet: | May 1st, 2011 at 03:58 GMT | | 2 points |
| Completely agree with your first comment. Initially I expected the list to be extremely long, but then after I began, I started to run out of words and realized that the category isn't as infinite as it seemed! Awesome quiz! |

| A few of those are proper names. I would never have thought to try them. Not that it would have helped much... |

| Thank you Sporcle for the published quiz! @All: I know this may sound like a simple concept at first, but I find it absolutely fascinating how many English words rhyme with the word cat. Enjoy the quiz and good luck! |

| LOL @ the scolding! |

| Why is cat one of the answers? |
 | Margann: | May 4th, 2011 at 04:20 GMT | | 133 points |
| when i wrote "shat" and that scolding came up, i thought that was hilarious. that was really funny and unexpected. wtg on that one |

| How can 'cat' rhyme with 'cat' when 'cat' IS 'cat'? |
 | NagMeNot: | May 4th, 2011 at 04:22 GMT | | -4 points |
| What about 'blat' (not the sandwich), like when you go blatting round in your car? |
 | fluffy: | May 4th, 2011 at 04:29 GMT | | 8 points |
| I don't like them very much but...frat |
 | eaglesmania: | May 4th, 2011 at 04:31 GMT | | 26 points |
| I agree that Frat should be included. btw good job anticipating "shat." lol |
 | druhutch: | May 4th, 2011 at 04:33 GMT | | 9 points |
Aw, I missed "splat", which I just realized is one of my favorite words.
@fluffy, eaglesmania: Unless I'm crazy, Frat is included. |
 | hodg: | May 4th, 2011 at 04:37 GMT | | 4 points |
| @druhutch, fluffy: frat *is* included, but if you type it in it doesn't come up. If you look at the stats, 0% of people have correctly guessed frat. There's a coding error somewhere. |

| this quiz was phat |
 | pirate6711: | May 4th, 2011 at 04:41 GMT | | 8 points |
| The shat bonus is very funny. |
 | packstack: | May 4th, 2011 at 04:46 GMT | | 10 points |
| Drat!?! I forgot That. |
 | oren0: | May 4th, 2011 at 05:25 GMT | | 26 points |
| Why does typing qat bring up the answer rat? No love for Scrabble players? |
 | Jimmy_James: | May 4th, 2011 at 05:34 GMT | | 9 points |
| qat brought up nat for me. Nevertheless, qat is actually pronounced "cot". |
 | dje: | May 4th, 2011 at 06:19 GMT | | 11 points |
| @awix: i think you mean "THAT quiz was phat!!" :-) |
 | RJMurphy: | May 4th, 2011 at 06:22 GMT | | 81 points |
| 'Plait' maybe? In my accent it rhymes with Cat, but maybe in an American accent it doesn't rhyme... |
 | tommyfbutler: | May 4th, 2011 at 06:26 GMT | | -1 points |
| The shat thing might be funny, but why isn't it included as a word?? Instead of listing 38 answers, there should be 39. Shat is a word, for god's sake. |
 | mattmag: | May 4th, 2011 at 06:34 GMT | | 6 points |
| I had no idea my name counted as a word (Matt). |
 | TessSGS: | May 4th, 2011 at 06:35 GMT | | 20 points |
| It's slang, tommy. Just like a certain four-letter word that rhymes with cat (tw*t) that isn't on the list (but doesn't even come up with a message).
I agree with people wanting "plait". After all, you DID say "I find it absolutely fascinating how many English words rhyme with the word cat" and "plait" is an English word =) |
 | triviahappy: | May 4th, 2011 at 06:37 GMT | | 18 points |
| RJMurphy: I also thought of plait (hair braid). It does rhyme in America. :) |
 | iceman1731: | May 4th, 2011 at 06:45 GMT | | 9 points |
| Such Language! |
 | awix: | May 4th, 2011 at 06:58 GMT | | 5 points |
| @Tess: I would say that word rhymes more with "pot" or "got" |
 | Kowslayer: | May 4th, 2011 at 07:34 GMT | | 6 points |
| Such language! |
 | jimmyk83: | May 4th, 2011 at 08:03 GMT | | 10 points |
| I typed in 'what' and it brought up 'chat' which i thought was a little odd. Plait should definitely be included |
 | TessSGS: | May 4th, 2011 at 09:07 GMT | | 14 points |
| @awix, eh??? plait sounds like plot??? I've NEVER heard that before anywhere. Only ever heard plait to rhyme with cat. |
 | climber_v12: | May 4th, 2011 at 09:08 GMT | | 30 points |
| Yes, Gwukelic, please include plait. Perhaps you're American, and perhaps Americans have decided to pronounce it 'plate', but the English (I can't speak for the Scots) pronounce it 'plat'. |
 | virtuekitty: | May 4th, 2011 at 10:09 GMT | | 2 points |
| they're saying you're first word of tw*t rhymes more with "pot" or "got". not plait. |
 | TessSGS: | May 4th, 2011 at 10:45 GMT | | 12 points |
| AH, I see. Maybe in the US but not in the UK, it rhymes with cat. (Sorry, awix) |
 | purpleriot: | May 4th, 2011 at 10:59 GMT | | 18 points |
| Surprised at some of the ones I missed. I only just got "at" at the very end! The bonus for "shat" made me laugh, but I expected the same for "twat"! |
 | muse: | May 4th, 2011 at 11:06 GMT | | 8 points |
| Was embarrased getting the bonus and am suitably chastised! |
