Hi everybody, I finally found the time to contribute this idea I have had for some time now. The quiz is fairly self-explanatory and all the lines you see within each state are county lines.
In addition to contributing this quiz, I wanted to know if you think I should do the same for Countries of the World, Countries of Europe, etc.?

Fun quiz, I think a Europe one would be good too.

Excellent quiz, though I would have enjoyed having more time to puzzle my way through the ones I missed (I got 29/50). And yes, I'd love to see something similar organized by continent!

Really like this quiz. Think a good job was done with using recognizable features/coasts even with the boxy states. Good challenge even for those who know their states.

Very well done, excellent selection of areas to make it do-able. A Europe one should actually be a bit easier, less straight lines! Definitely do another. :)

Great quiz! The last state I got Utah, and I lived there. Duh. And I appreciated being able to use state abbreviations.

I bet the 100 US Senators would average 39/50 on this, with nobody scoring 50/50. Good challenge!

It seemed so easy ..at first! and I kind of liked that, I thought this was a piece of cake but soon saw I got to choke on that same cake, nicely done!

Wow, lots of fun. Definitely got harder towards the end. Maybe put in the notes that abbreviations are allowed; took me awhile to figure that out. Five stars and a fave!

This would have been a lot faster actually were I able to just type out the state names. I had to stop and think of what the state was and then what the postal abbreviation was.

@jseve001: State names are accepted. I used full state names for a few of them

Although I am a map geek, I think that you could knock a minute off the time for a solid challenge. I finished with over 3 minutes left. Having the postal abbreviations really helped to cut down on the time needed.

Utah really got me here - I thought of an extension, did not think that the SE part was a county but considered it out of state and was a tad stumped by that shape. Others got me, too, with less of an excuse.

If you're going to allow abbreviations on the 1st line, allow them on every one!

I was dismayed to get through one line by using abbreviations, only to find myself typing them out for the rest of the quiz. Based on the pre-publishng comments, it sounds like this is an issue on part of the SporcleAdmin.

^ Agreed. I doubted my knowledge of state abbreviations when MA wasn't accepted for Massachusetts.

When I gave this quiz a Curator Pick a few months ago, I asked gwukelic to please accept postal abbreviations, and he immediately made the change. If I had to guess, the abbreviation issue came into play when this quiz was prepped for publish. Please do not take out your frustrations on the ratings. This is one of my favorite quizzes, and I do believe the problem is not the quiz maker's fault.

@Twigs: yes, the US states are divided into counties. If you know from which country they were colonies, you'll realize why. Probably if they had been French colonies, they would have been divided into arrondissements, but no, they weren't.

Postal abbreviation corrections that I found: Arkansas is AR, not AK. Kentucky is KY, not KT. Delaware is DE, (currently doesn't accept any abbreviation beginning with "d").

I mistyped the Kentucky postal code, missing the y and hitting the T...I was momentarily stunned when that worked. The only issue I have with the quiz is the Alabama map was a little...light/unclear? Well it was just really hard to see any definitive lines. 5 Globes for this gem.

A lot of epiphanies when time ran out. I might have fared better if water was a different color from land. Still, I might not have. Frankly, I'm not feeling that bright right now.

I guess I'll be the nerd who points out that there's no such thing as a "county map" of Louisiana. Louisiana doesn't have counties; it has parishes.
