Hey everybody, so I wanted to contribute this music quiz for a couple of reasons.
1) It's similar to my sports Team Endings quiz. Here's the link:
2) I don't make music quizzes very often, but if I get a music quiz published, I will have a quiz published in every category! :)
And finally, 3) I just love listening to music!
Also, I'm worried that this quiz is too difficult, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know!

I needed more time. It is difficult - I only got 14. With a couple more minutes I'm sure I could've come up with more. I love that it made me think.

@gwukelic: Nice job, this must have taken some time to put together! Good luck with getting published.

@debbiedoesnothin: Okay. I added two more minutes, so hopefully that helps!
@chaste: Thanks for catching that! I just added him.
@needapausebutton: Thank you very much! I hope so too.

^ Seconded! Awesome accomplishment. But I hear they are adding a new Category "Politics", so you better get to work.

Truly. Well done Jacksons. Had to give it 5 stars after seeing that comment.

I was shocked, just shocked, when Dokken didn't work!

Did anyone else get Michael Bolton because of Office Space?

I was surprised at the lack of Journey.

Coven NEVER had a #1 song.
Aug 31st, 2012 at 21:17 GMT
Not ashamed to have missed most of them
Aug 31st, 2012 at 21:50 GMT
Absence of Journey and Springsteen surprising.
Aug 31st, 2012 at 21:52 GMT
I couldn't believe The Lettermen never hit #1! But I looked it up and our quizzmaster is correct, they never topped the Billboard list, although "Hurts So Bad" did go to #1 on the Adult Contemporary charts in 1961.

"Groups" < > "Musicians". "Musician" means a single person. I purposely did not put in any groups because of use of that word. Please clarify the directions to say "Musicians or Groups".

I FORGOT MARIAH CAREY. God

Sep 1st, 2012 at 02:51 GMT
@mrmanheim John Mayer never had a number 1 song

Didn't Juice Newton have a #1 with Playing with the Queen of Hearts...I may be wrong, but I could have sword she did.

Excellent quiz, but I think it could use more time.

No Springsteen or Alice Cooper. Totally thrown, totally beaten!
Sep 4th, 2012 at 19:00 GMT
Very surprised that there was no Springsteen or Dionne Warwick. I suggest at least a bonus for Noel Paul StookEY -- the Paul of Peter, Paul, and Mary, who I believe had number 1 Billboard hits with "Puff, the Magic Dragon" and "Leaving on a Jet Plane." Otherwise, perhaps clarify that "artist" only refers to the name of a a whole group. Thanks for a fun quiz.

I entered "Houston" for Whitney and got a hit in the '70s. What "Houston" had a #1 in the '70s? I know it wasn't Whitney, or her mother.

I completely forgot Nickleback and I am 100% OK with that. Also shocked but pleased to find Rebecca Black didn't work.

An interesting quiz. I didn't know what to make of it when I was challenged with it, but once I started plugging in some names that were familiar to me, it started to make sense fairly quickly. Note to gwukelic, though: You need to accept JUICE NEWTON, too, as she had a few #1s in the early- to mid-80s. Google her.
