	Probably too much time. I worked at a leisurely pace and got all of them except the London Fire. Had minute 30 seconds left so I was able to guess starting from 1600 and eventually got it.

	Since Jefferson was still drafting the Declaration on June 28, 1776, it would be a little hard for the formal signing to have been before then. Also, most of the signers didn't signed until August 2, 1776. Only John Hancock, President of the Second Continental Congress, signed on July 4, 1776.

	"Friday, in the morning, when twelve [days] were counted of October..." At least that was the date that Christopher Columbus recorded in his diary for the discovery of America. In the quiz it appears as October 21st.

	@bowsntoys: to be nitpicky, Japan surrendered and you were born on September 2nd (by the Gregorian calendar) but the Great Fire of London started on September 2nd by the Julian calendar then in use in England. As the date of the fire by the Gregorian calendar was September 12th, strictly speaking the three events didn't happen on the same day of the month.

	I'm surprised my how many I got right- a lot of, 'I'll just guess this date because it sticks in my mind for some reason, oh, I was right!' Guess that's why the date stuck in my head.

	The quiz is interesting and has a nice spread of history but is has nothing from before 1492 and 4 from our own (young) century. That seems lazy to me. But still four globes for the wide range of places involved.

	@A5l9: First off, our Revolutionary War lasted until 1783, so everything was pretty chaotic until then. It wasn't like throwing a switch, and BOOM! Independence! Until 1789, we had the Articles of Confederation, which were drawn up in 1777. (But weren't even fully formally ratified until 1781 because, y'know, war.) The Articles were a pretty weak system, so after a few years, we had a convention that drew up the new Constitution.

	Not only is JamesSnell right about the overrepresentation of recent years, but... of the more recent events, how many are going to stand the test of time? Will anyone other than historians or trivia freaks (no offense - I'm both) remember Benedict XVI or the Haitian quake? To put it another way: when was, say, Pius VIII elected? When was the Haiyuan quake that killed 235,000?
