Hawaiian cities are not incorporated.

This would be more interesting if the second city were measured by percentage of the first city's population. Just my .02.

It seems like percentages would be nearly impossible. After the first five or so, it would become a guessing game.

The percentages one would be fun, but this is a great quiz too. It completely defies expectations, because I wanted to try to think of states with only one big city, but that doesn't work here at all. I still can't believe there is more difference between Jacksonville and Miami than Omaha and Lincoln!

You should specify that these are US states (and not states as in countries)

@MidtownKat: Is it NOT a guessing game now?

@marpocky: Funny. I definitely did some guessing too but there really aren't too many >300k cities to begin with. Percentages might be fun but it seems like it would be more wild-guessing than educated-guessing. Just a thought.

Tata_ulan, thanks for the suggestion. I added US to clear that up.

@Dralcoffin: When I made the game I had a note for the Hawaii asterisk. However in the limited space for text, it was difficult to note the census distinction w/o giving away Hawaii as a correct answer. In the end I just deleted it.

Great quiz, tho Georgia killed me, too. One note on the format--when I bombed out, all the state answers were filled in by ???, which is fine, but the CITIES for those "mystery states" were filled in, more or less making the questions marks pointless. If you are taking this quiz and don't know what state Indianapolis is in..... What might be fun is to see the most guessed wrong answers. I was darn sure on GA and guessed it 5th or 6th. Oh well, glad it was not a real mine field.

@bobman1: I tried endlessly to make it the way you mentioned. The quiz template options are limited however and I finally gave up. If someone knows how to hide the 3rd column for unanswered clues, please let me know. The other option (which maybe would be better?)is to leave the cities off altogether.

Next time, I should read the instructions to see if this is a minefield quiz or not.
