	The note about "FIFA successor countries" is a bit cryptic, which is why I didn't even think of East Germany.

	Would you suggest a different way of putting it? FIFA doesn't consider Germany to be a successor of East Germany. This is why one answer displays as "Germany or West Germany" and is triggered by both and another is just "East Germany."

	Some surprising countries not on the list - amazed that there haven't been prominent refs from Norway or Greece, even South Korea at the more recent tournaments

	Don't the recent World Cups try to limit the refereeing pool to an absolute maximum of two per country, with ideally only one from each where possible? That would explain the lack of the likes of Greece and Turkey, I suppose, while a country like Uruguay probably racked up loads in the first couple of tournaments.

	Why is England accepted when UK is typed in? But Wales and Scotland arent? They all compete as separate countries in football so should be accepted separately.

	"UK" and "United Kingdom" do not and did not trigger any of the home nations. Not sure where you got that from. England, Scotland, and Wales all do not have any alternate answers accepted.
