I would recommend that SANERAEPM would unscramble to a more standard spelling, without the second E.

i have to say, i've never considered about half of these to be pizza toppings.
Nov 19th, 2011 at 06:04 GMT
Please don't ever make me a pizza. No pepperoni, no sausage, no green peppers, no mushrooms. In other words, no pizza.
Nov 19th, 2011 at 06:34 GMT
yum, i'm hungry now
Nov 19th, 2011 at 06:49 GMT
It seems you can put anything on a crust and call it a pizza.
Nov 19th, 2011 at 10:00 GMT
Here in Germany, people put eggs on their pizza.
Nov 19th, 2011 at 10:46 GMT
I agree that most of these don't instantly scream pizza toppings. Although chorizo would be amazing. Hmmmm. Off to the grocery store I go.
Nov 19th, 2011 at 11:14 GMT
A very obscure collection of pizza toppings, the most common are left out and replaced by feta and pine nuts. Too classy.
Nov 19th, 2011 at 12:30 GMT
@deugea: What do you mean no mushrooms? What do you think portobello is? I've had a couple of these things on pizza before. Shrimp and broccoli is a rather good combination.

guide is probably the kind of person who eats pizza with a fork. (Don't let them catch you in New Jersey.)
Nov 19th, 2011 at 14:06 GMT
It's a shame that my local pizzeria doesn't offer pine nuts as a topping.
Nov 19th, 2011 at 14:34 GMT
good. I didn't want gonorea on my pizza. (and, yes, I know that's not how it's spelled)
Nov 19th, 2011 at 15:20 GMT
Who puts zucchini on pizza?
Nov 19th, 2011 at 15:39 GMT
Yikes. You guys are missing out. Nearly all of these are delicious. And no, I don't eat pizza with a fork! Anyway, this of course isn't supposed to be a comprehensive list—if we threw "pepperoni" on here it'd instantly reveal the answer.
Nov 19th, 2011 at 16:43 GMT
this pizza would just be absolutely awful
Nov 19th, 2011 at 16:51 GMT
Joey would have these in a second
Nov 19th, 2011 at 16:54 GMT
my friends will put anything on a pizza, chocolate, banana, tuna... and I thought they were weird!
Nov 19th, 2011 at 17:30 GMT
Are your friends six-foot, martial arts-practicing reptiles, perchance?
Nov 19th, 2011 at 17:36 GMT
Wow... I want pizza now.
Nov 19th, 2011 at 22:31 GMT
Why shouldn't "food" be accepted as the link? I think most people would agree that they're all foods, whereas it appears to be a matter of some dispute whether some of them are used as pizza toppings by anyone outside a small group of people with some rather weird tastes.
Nov 19th, 2011 at 22:40 GMT
@Rayavi: fair enough. I'm still more accustomed to button mushrooms, though, or a clue that was "hmmoorssu" or something. And here in Chicago we eat pizza with a fork. Deep-dish stuffed pizza. Good times.
Nov 19th, 2011 at 23:55 GMT
@ChileNoseJam: I'll add a bonus prompting to be more specific for food. There are a few things on here that I don't think would meet a good definition of "food" though. Is oregano a "food"? As for whether or not these are pizza toppings, I assure you if you search the web for "pizza toppings" you'll see all of these in many instances. Not that that's the be-all, end-all definition for what constitutes a pizza topping of course, but almost all of these are either common toppings or stock gourmet-type stuff. And if just one person goes out and tries a pizza with goat cheese on it as a result of this quiz, my work here will be done.

@Rayavi. I just wanted to let you know that I notice you a lot in comments, and I always read your comments in my mind as the comic book guy would say it and sound like. It is quite amusing and what you say always sounds like what he would say...

props to this quiz from Chicago!
Nov 20th, 2011 at 01:17 GMT
These toppings do not have a place on a Chicago pizza...
Nov 20th, 2011 at 01:49 GMT
I think these are all good answers for the chosen theme, and they do avoid some of the more obvious ones. On the other hand, all or very nearly all of them could also be antipasti, or at least ingredients of antipasti (in the case of things like EARGOON). So perhaps there's another possible theme here?
Nov 20th, 2011 at 02:15 GMT
@Q_Pheever: Interesting. I think it has to be "all" and not "very nearly all" though.
Nov 20th, 2011 at 03:46 GMT
No thank you. Any place that serves kiteroaches on their pizza is not somewhere I wish to dine.
Nov 20th, 2011 at 20:51 GMT
@trick39berry: Would now be a bad time to mention that I actually made a Comic Book Guy costume for Anime Central 2010?
Nov 20th, 2011 at 22:26 GMT
I want pizza now.
Nov 20th, 2011 at 23:33 GMT
@Rayavi. No, not really... I admire you. You are now my new God that I shall obey and pray to. My old God was a piece of a pool noodle the sixe of a quarter that made a very fun game, somehow....
Nov 21st, 2011 at 10:39 GMT
I missed 'pineapple', but then that is something that does not belong on a pizza.
Dec 29th, 2011 at 21:40 GMT
Capers? CAPERS?! I can get behind most of these and accept the rest...but CAPERS? No. Just...no.
Feb 4th, 2013 at 09:10 GMT
I don't think of the vast majority of these as pizza toppings. Honestly, I typed "pizza toppings" as a joke, not expecting it to be the common bond. On a more lighthearted note, as a Cougar, I should make a joke about how only a Husky would want these toppings on his pizza. Here on the Palouse, we like our pizza covered in pepperoni, sausage, and regular cheese.
