Not saying it's wrong, exactly, but it's always a little dicey characterizing Life is Beautiful as a 1997 film. It was released in Italy in late 1997 but was not released in the US until October 1998 and when Roberto Benigni won Best Actor (and the film won Best Foreign Language Film) it was for 1998 (i.e., at the Academy Award ceremony held in 1999).
Maybe a better way of making the point is that both Jack Nicholson and Benigni won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the roles pictured here. If they're films from the same year, how can that be? |
