Gotta accept The Fonz for Henry Winkler, don't you?

@RockBandForever - Your feelings about JB are spot on...historically. Typically, teen idols are adored by teens, but other generations just don't get the same "Fever". (Possible exception - The Church Lady!) @kidcanada - It was tempting to accept the Fonz, but then I would have to accept character names for all the actors and their different roles. Frankly, I'm not up to the challenge! That's why I included instructions in the game notes, requiring the real name of the actor or artist. Thanks for the comments.

I think the difference with the Fonz, as opposed to the others, is that when you see that photo you automatically think of The Fonz as opposed to the actor who played him.

Having gotten less than half, I'd ask for the counterpart quiz of whatever the female equivalent of "teen idol" is...except that I'm not sure I'd do any better recognizing the women of the 60s and early 70s, or whoever it is that these kids today like.

I totally had that Justin Timberlake poster. And that's a horrible picture of Kirk Cameron. He was one of my favorites and I didn't recognize it.

@caramba - Thanks for the pick. I read the blurb you wrote about your teen idol. Now I will always picture you as "Horshack" in my mind. Nerdy and quirky, but in a good way! Do you snort when you laugh?

Funny to think of Frank Sinatra and even Johnny Depp as Teen idols. For both of them I'm so used to thinking of them later in life that I didn't even recognize them as teens.

Andy Gibb looks a lot like a young Matthew Morrison. And David Cassidy looks a lot like a girl.

I don't care if I'm a teen or not, but my ears don't change, and Michael Jackson as a kid should never be mentioned in the same. Sentence as Justin Bieber.

Is it embarrassing that I got all of these right, especially when you consider at least half of these idols were popular before I was born?

D'oh! I forgot to scroll down and missed the bottom row. And you needed that, was it Tony? Defranco, my sister was nuts about him in the 70's.

I did okay, but mainly missed the guys who are currently 25-30 and under (some I flat out never heard of, which is probably for the best). Oh, throw in the one I was supposedly named after by my teeny-bopper sisters, 48 years ago. He looked familiar....

thp Shaun Cassidy was nicer looking than his brother David. And was a teen idol along with Parker. Good quiz. Looking forward to the female equivalent!

When you stack them up like this, it becomes pretty clear that young girls surprisingly often tend to go for the androgynous/effeminate types.

Just by typing common surnames in the USA you should get at least 7 to 9 correct, or roughly 25%: Smith, Jones, Jackson, Brown, Nelson, Carter, Lopez, Garrett, Stevenson.

@NatalijaS: Those types that you call androgynous/effeminate are called boys. It is only natural for girls to like them. The masculine traits occur later in life and are appealing to adults not children. As it should be.

Boo to Shaun - David Cassidy was my first love. I admit I cheated: I googled "Kirstie Alley's ex-husband" to come up with the name of the other Hardy boy. And can't believe I remembered how to spell Aames.
