Great quiz. Brings back many memories of MM. It's hard to believe it's been 50 years... I still clearly remember learning of her death and thinking that it just couldn't be and then crying buckets. I was 12.

I absolutely love the quiz, googlebird, but I'm fairly certain that the Kennedy/Monroe picture is a Photoshopped fake. My initial reaction in seeing it was that it just looked wrong- Monroe is too big and Kennedy is too small- as though one of them got added in later. Then I found this recent Huffington Post story about the only existing photo of the two of them together, and it's a shot of Kennedy from behind: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/01/jfk-marilyn-monroe-photo_n_596107.html

@Hejman - What great information! I found several photos that I knew were photoshopped, but I had no idea there was only one known photo. I didn't use the picture originally, because it was the back of his head. Now I love how rare the photo is. I know Sporcler's will have little trouble figuring out who is in the photo. Even his haircut is recognizable. Thanks for the help and the link.

Even (just over) half a century later, MM still remains an icon, the great sex symbol of the 20th century. Even with the changing role of and perception of women in society no other female star has come close to duplicating her incredible appeal.

As a kid, I was in love Marilyn. I still remember where I was when I heard the news she died (I was twelve). I was heartbroken. I think I'm still in love with her. Maybe we all are.

How sad. Marilyn was on the top of the page for only 2 hours today and then she was dropped to the "And More" category. Goodbye Norma Jean. Like a Candle in the Wind.

The James Dean photo is fake. Google tells me they probably never met.

unfortunately the dean and monroe picture is only an art work poster. they were never photographed together all others are real pictures.

I missed Cary Grant because of that ridiculous face he's making.

Unfortunately, James Dean should be replaced soon. Too bad. They looked like such a happy couple.

@mscrub: The Grant pic is likely from the Howard Hawks directed "Monkey Business" where he plays a research scientist who unknowingly drinks a 'fountain of youth' elixir dumped into a water cooler by a lab chimpanzee, wherein he reverts to a 20 y.o. and 'cavorts' with MM. @googlebird: If u want to replace the Dean pic u cd. probably find a still from "Niagara" where Joseph Cotten plays MM's husband out to kill her. Great scenes of the Falls. The only drawback is the film was in colour and MM wore a very tight, very red dress which REALLY made men take notice so a b/w photo wdnt. do her justice.
