I can't be the only person looking at some of these pictures (Travola, Williams, Tomlin) and thinking, "They're so *young*!" (Except Big Bird, who I swear hasn't aged a day.)

"Flip Wilson" looks a lot more like Ben Vereen or Pele.

I swore Pavarotti was Dom DeLuise and just assumed I was spelling it wrong. I enjoyed this quiz, despite the handicap of being born in 1979.

i've done the 90's, 80's, and 70's just now back to back to back. the further back you go, the less often the covers are photos.

@statephone - I noticed that making the quizzes. Each decade has an overall different look. I find it interesting to see how the photography, graphics, or artwork changed over time. I just started the version for the 60s. It sure looks dated.

I would accept Majors as an alternative for Farah Fawcett. She was just as well known by her married name.

Did anyone else think Bruce Springsteen was Topol from "Fiddler on the Roof?" It's mostly the beard at hat I suppose, but I must have tried a half-dozen different spellings to be absolutely certain that it wasn't him.

Springsteen looks rather militant. I was thinking Castro. I thought it was a gun, but I guess its a guitar :)

I think Anwar Sadat looks a touch like Walt Disney, but I SWEAR I though that long-haired hippie James Taylor was George Harrison.

@googlebird: We're all waiting very patiently here... can you please cut to the chase and get to the Covers for the 1840's? You got your Martin Van Buren posing, your Edgar Allan Poe prosing, Karl Marx foreboding, Samuel Morse coding, Charlotte Bronte writing, a Pope Pius sighting... ah! what a decade it was! These games are GREAT FUN, and thanks for continuing to brew them up.

@The Road Guy: I had the same thought & kept trying different spellings of Khomeini. Then again, I also thought James Taylor was either Frank Zappa or Jesus.

Last names that don't work: John (already noted above) and Bird. Burton? Ach, I tried every young black boxer I knew of--duh. The Boss? No way. Just no way. JT? Lennon failed, as did Harrison--but that one is on me--probably an album cover I have somewhere. Hughes? Cripes--coulda guessed JD Salinger or Pyncheon for all anybody knew what he looked like in later years.... Despite my griping, I loved this quiz.

You are so a crook and that picture prooves it. The best I could do for Ansel Adams was Dr. Seuss. Keep them coming, googlebird.
