Good quiz but the 'Notebook' answer is a bit confusing - you need to accept Rachel McAdams as she is the actress playing the character in the picture.
Jan 9th, 2011 at 11:30 GMT
Excellent, of course. (Even if I got Audrey Hepburn by being *certain* that the lower-left picture was Katharine Hepburn playing opposite Cary Grant.)

@Broomhead - Thanks. Fixed.

Good mix of some classic and some more recent romantic movies. Although I was a bit upset that West Side Story was omitted, but I suppose you can't name them all.

The black-and-white made this a lot harder; I couldn't make out who some of the guys were.
Feb 14th, 2011 at 05:02 GMT
Great quiz. Follow up with the men?
Feb 14th, 2011 at 05:10 GMT
Interesting ... I got 9 of the bottom 10 but only 5 of the top 10. Go figure.
Feb 14th, 2011 at 05:35 GMT
Either I've seen WAY too many romances, or it really helps to have a choice of actress or character name - usually the wrong one pops to mind. Thanks.

I agree with midwesterndiva, this probably would have worked better had the color images been left in color, especially for pictures (like Spider-Man) that have a lot of red in them, because red is notorious for losing its contrast when converted to black and white.
Feb 14th, 2011 at 07:17 GMT
I was fretting rather fiercely trying to remember who played Baby, then remembered that the character's name was acceptable. Phew!
Feb 14th, 2011 at 08:23 GMT
NO MARILYN MONROE?!
Feb 14th, 2011 at 09:19 GMT
I typed "McGraw" about 50 times. Duh. DUH.
Feb 14th, 2011 at 10:16 GMT
could not figure out what I was looking at in the Spiderman picture.
Feb 14th, 2011 at 12:12 GMT
Is it just me, or is this an awful lot of Richard Gere?
Feb 14th, 2011 at 12:48 GMT
I thought the black-and-white vs red was quite striking, though that color palette is much better suited for a PNG than a JPG. The file probably would have been smaller, and had less artifacting around the hearts.

googlebird- fun quiz!! i knew i had barbara streisand right, though, and it just wouldn't accept the answer... looks like its spelled incorrectly in the answers? other than that, i did pretty well :)
Feb 14th, 2011 at 13:33 GMT
I'm very disappointed you didn't include Kermit & Miss Piggy.
Feb 14th, 2011 at 13:35 GMT
@candrade, If you used her first name, the mystery is solved: it's Barbra". What a fun quiz; even though I pressedF11 I missed the entire last row and still scored okay. Quiz for the guys? Ditto.

Ray. Rea. Rae. Rai. Rey. Rei. Lang. Lange. Laing. Lainge. WTF... I know it's gotta be one or the other! LOL! Fun quiz!!! Happy Valentines Day!
Feb 14th, 2011 at 15:54 GMT
Yay for including Wall-E and Eve, that movie has me in floods every time.
Feb 14th, 2011 at 15:56 GMT
I guess Cher purely from the hair.
Feb 14th, 2011 at 16:58 GMT
Very clever to include Eve. Nice quiz, and thanks for listing the movies -- very considerate of you. Happy Valentine's Day!
Feb 14th, 2011 at 17:39 GMT
I couldn't tell what the spiderman pic was until I saw the answer. Looked like she was grabbing a woman's butt or something.
Feb 14th, 2011 at 18:41 GMT
I never realized so many actresses had big red hearts for faces!
Feb 14th, 2011 at 19:17 GMT
Fun quiz. One bone to pick -- the shot for "To Have and Have Not" certainly doesn't appear in the film itself, it must be a publicity still. That film has a fantastic kissing scene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0V2y3diQBLQ) but it doesn't look anything like that.
Feb 14th, 2011 at 19:42 GMT
For some reason, I thought WALL-E was No. 5 from Short Circuit and I wondered why Ally Sheedy looked so...futuristic...
Feb 14th, 2011 at 20:35 GMT
Great quiz, though I am very disappointed in myself that the only one I missed was a Cary Grant movie! Love him! I kept typing Myrna Loy, because those two were scorching in "The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer." But alas, no.
Feb 14th, 2011 at 20:44 GMT
I'm so embarrassed ... for the Spiderman one, I didn't realize it was Spiderman hanging upside-down in that iconic, should-have-been-easily-recognizable scene. I thought it was heart-headed lady grabbing onto some other lady's bottom. (Spidey's neck thing looked like a belt in my mind.) Oops. :o

JOHNNY FIVE IS ALIVE!
Feb 14th, 2011 at 23:14 GMT
Happy VD everybody! i kept typing ray and raye! ugh I couldnt spell zellweger either! i agree with caramba i thought it was short circuit and coulnt understand why Sheedy wouldnt work, although her pic made no sense it didnt stop me from trying! great quiz!
Feb 15th, 2011 at 04:48 GMT
Can't believe An Affair to Remember went so... unremembered...
Feb 15th, 2011 at 06:51 GMT
awwwww i am so glad you included wall-e and eve :)
Feb 20th, 2011 at 08:20 GMT
Could not think of Winona Ryder's name!! So stuck on that.
Feb 24th, 2011 at 06:50 GMT
Ohhhhh that's Spiderman! Why did I think that some woman was kissing a wooden jar in a net... Gotta get these eyes checked :s
Mar 2nd, 2011 at 04:09 GMT
You should accept "EVA" or "E-VA" for EVE...just because that's how Wall-E always says it.
Jun 9th, 2011 at 13:15 GMT
Anyone think Rachel McAdams was Gabriella from High School musical?
Feb 14th, 2013 at 15:43 GMT
Q:Why is Dirty Dancing in Row 2, Column 4?
A: Nobody puts Baby in a corner.
Feb 14th, 2013 at 18:44 GMT
I'm surprised that more people don't automatically guess Bacall to go with Bogart. I did't recognize the movie, but thought it was worth a shot.
