Good quiz, but I would suggest moving it over to the Movie section.

Admit it. When you saw Rob Schneider's name, you immediately tried "The Baseball."

Change Nicholas Farrell to Ben Cross or Ian Charleston...eh, forget it. Either you know that one or you don't!

I know it's older and smaller box office and everything, but it's still depressing to see Like Mike above Hoosiers on any list.

Great quiz - I missed some obvious ones, while others I guessed were not on the list. John Candy would have helped. A movie with Bow Wow made $51M?? I never saw tooth fairy so I didn't know it was about hockey.

Agree that this is a little sad. No "Raging Bull"? "Bull Durham"? "Hoop Dreams"? I know, they weren't box-office smashes, and that's what this quiz is about. Still, kind of disappointing.

A soccer movie starring Steve Guttenberg? Shocking that it only grossed $17 million when it seems to have had so much going for it :-P

This is pretty depressing, but The Love Guru grossed more than the #5 Hockey movie listed, so it should probably be replaced.

@rockgolf, but when you think of hockey movies, that should be the first one that comes to mind...right? Or is that a generation gap thing?

@Evil44: If you're referring to Slapshot as the ultimate hockey movie, you're right. But that's not what the quiz is about. Otherwise "Pride of the Yankees" would lead the baseball list, and "Knute Rockne - All American" would be on the football list.

Honestly had no idea The Benchwarmers was a baseball movie. I think I vaguely recall a seeing a preview for it. Was it the one with the dude from Napoleon Dynamite?

Man. There are classics and Trash. And the money the movie gets doesn't always differ the two. Prime example: Tooth Fairy ahead of Mighty Ducks and Slap show. So sad.

Why isn't Escape to Victory and When Saturday Comes here for soccer movies? I never even heard of the one with Steve Guttenberg.

Want to make a sports movie and get rich? You might want to stay away from golf and soccer movies. After looking at these lists, I realize even though I really enjoy watching soccer, I've never once watched a soccer based movie.

@SporcleAdmins:
Much as I'd prefer Paul Newman's Slapshot to be on the hockey list, it was outgrossed (in every sense of the word) by the really awful but hockey-centric Mike Myers film The Love Guru. BoxofficeMojo.com lists it as having grossed $32 million.
Sorry, Paul. Still like your salad dressing.
