it was bizarre to do a golf quiz on sporcle and not see jack nicklaus' name light up the board.
Comment below threshold:

#9's country of origin is misspelled.

I thought I followed golf more than that, but apparently 'number 1' makes everyone else seem incredibly irrelevant.

one of those quizzes where even as I click "give up" I know damned well there's at least another twenty-odd I know, but won't be able to think of. Watch out for number 16 - still not twenty and looking an exceptional player and already in the top 20 in the world. One for many future sporcle golf quizzes!

@yankeessuck - he's outside the top 1000 in the world right now

@DRB - my thoughts entirely! I'll think I'd do a lot better in a few months time when the Masters & Open have refreshed my mind (don't subscribe to the channel that shows US Open in UK). At least I remembered no.31 who's very local to me.

Just a quick question how is that, for example, VJ Singh and Jeev Mikha Singh do not have the same percentage correct? When you type in Singh you get both. Same for Johnson and Hansen, just wondering.

@mark - good point! I've noticed similar situations on other quizzes. Perhaps a small number of people insist on typing the full name?

I typed in Vijay Singh, I didn't realise just Singh was enough

@SamH: ``Enter a golfer (last names acceptable) in the box below''. In most Sporcle quizzes where the answers are people's names, the surname is enough.

@Statto: There was an interesting case in the densely populated countries quiz. Taiwan was an answer in both halves of the quiz but `Republic of China' was only an alternative in one half. Enough people were typing `Republic of China' that somebody noticed the different score percentage for the two.

Good timing for this quiz having seen many of the players at the masters. As a tennis fan it would be great if we could also have a quiz on the tennis world rankings please.

At first glance I thought #57 said "Kiefer" instead of Kevin.

My knowledge of the world of golf has really diminished over the last five years. I was typing in names like Jeff Maggert and Tom Lehman instead of some of the names in the top 64 today.

Interesting that at the begining of the season only 2 of the major champions were ranked in the top 64, only 1 was in the top 59 and 0 were in the top 20. Quite amazing really.
