	Probably "periodicity of Halley's comet" would be a better clue for Halley. The comet itself wasn't discovered by Edmund (or Edmond) Halley; it had been observed several times before, especially at the epoch of the Norman Conquest of England in 1066 (it was depicted in the Bayeux tapestry). As for the Martian "canals", it's curious that Schiaparelli called them "canali", but that Italian word may mean both natural channels (like the English Channel) or man-made canals (like the Suez Canal). Therefore, it's hard to tell if he really meant canals built by intelligent Martians or simply natural features of the surface of the planet.

	Let's not get too concerned about credit here. These people may have discovered HOW these things work, but they certainly didn't MAKE them work. For that, we gotta give it up to the big guy... Chuck Norris.

	Leon Foucault certainly didn't discover the Earth's rotation, he just devised an elegant way to demonstrate it. Lucy Wills did not discover folic acid in the normal sense (she determined there existed a necessary "nutritional factor" she did not isolate).

	Oxygen is debatable: Carl Scheele probably made the discovery first, but Priestley published it before him. I guess it depends how you define 'discover'.

	Wegener didn't discover plate tectonics; he first came up with the hypothesis of continental drift, but didn't have an explanation for HOW the continents could move, so no one believed him. Plate tectonics - which provided that explanation - didn't come along until later, shortly after Wegener's death. He never lived to see his idea proven. I'd change "plate tectonics" to "continental drift" in the quiz.

	who else deserves credit is debatable for many of these. such is the nature of scientific discovery. this is still a fun quiz and not inaccurate. you misspelled marie sklodowska-curie though

	You might want to expand "relativity" to "special and general relativity" or something, because there is a related concept now known as "Galilean relativity", which was obviously formulated by Galileo. Some of the other descriptions are also a bit vague, like "nature of combustion", which could be referring to all kinds of things.
