Need to put 'U' in the comments for "no winners"

O'Farrell? What an underwhelming list of candidates for the 1926 NL MVP award. Hard to believe O'Farrell beat out Hack Wilson.

Who else here tried Mel Ott for "O" and were bitterly disappointed when it didn't go through?

@devilsfan15: I have to admit, I'm still cracking up.

Could you also accept 'Yaz' for those of us who can't spell Yastrzemski?

Couldn't think of an E for the the life of me, yet another reason Ellsbury should have been MVP.

Fun game trying to beat the clock... Slapping my forehead - Verlander won such a long time ago, which is obviously why I missed "V". Quick side-note gnatural: In the instructions, perhaps the wording should be "multiple players whose surnames begin with that letter have won"? (As it reads now, "multiple players with that surname have won")

To this day, there has never been an X last name player. We've got plenty of good U's though with the Uptons, Utley and Uggla.

@ndkchk: That's tempting, but I think getting the spelling right is part of the deal here. You can always just spell it Y-O-U-N-T. :) @needapausebutton (we have one now, isn't that great?!): The instructions mean what they say: Gibson (2) means that two different Gibsons won the award. Sorry if that's confusing!

@gnatural: I get it now. I was too preoccupied with the clock, that when I happened to get an answer right, I moved on immediately, and didn't notice the three answers that popped up as "alternates" to the name I used.

Oh Great Quiz.

@mgroth: I was also surprised at Ott's exclusion, and just as surprised that David Ortiz hadn't won one either.. @wolfie: Don't forget Ugueth Urbina!

There isn't parentheses next to Howard. Both Ryan Howard and Elston Howard won MVPs

Fixed. Good catch, Qu1in!

After all these baseball quizzes, finally, you have failed me, Mel Ott.

I should've taken a Chance and guessed Evers, instead I just Tinkered around.

As of right now, 3.2% of the quiz takers have gotten O'Farrell, but only about half that many (1.7%) have gotten all the answers. How can you know O'Farrell, and not know every single MVP there's ever been?
Jul 20th, 2012 at 22:20 GMT
I see that you included Chalmers Award (1911–1914) and League Awards (1922–1929). Which is great but you forgot Dazzy Vance 1924.

Had to look up Mr. "O" on Baseball Reference. He won the 1926 MVP on a .293 BA with 7 HR and 68 RBI. Hughie Critz and Ray Kremer were 2nd and 3rd that year. And that will probably be the last time the names Critz, Kremer, and MVP are mentioned in the same sentence. Great quiz, and an extra globe for Mr. "O"

You deserve a perfect score if you managed to fill in "Foxx" for your F. I knew that "O" was gonna suck when Ott failed. I liked this one, even though I had no clue what I was really doing until I put in one B name and they all popped up.
Dec 15th, 2012 at 17:29 GMT
Almost didnt get the F for a second. Took 3 mins trying to type FISK! you forgot Carlton Fisk
Dec 15th, 2012 at 17:30 GMT
I lied Fisk was a chump
