	Growing up in Ohio, I was taught that it was the 17th state, so I've always known the three non-British colonies that entered before Ohio. After that, the key is to remember how important New Orleans was and the fact that they added one northern state and one southern state to balance each other out. Mississippi is closer to New Orleans than Alabama is, which is why it became a state earlier.

	I'd add California and West Virginia as potential decoys. I realize that they're significantly later but both have unusual circumstances that might trip people, more so than (say) Iowa and Wisconsin.

	Maine was part of Massachusetts until it achieved statehood in 1820. I knew the date, but still thought that would put it in the first 20 states. So I can't claim Sporclitis, I guess I was just...well...umm...wrong. "Remember the Maine!"

	Here's a perfect example of a quiz that doesn't need to be a Minefield. Could've just given all 50 states and 20 guesses to click the first 20. Then we'd be able to see that actual answers as well.

	The minefield is to get more plays, which gets the quiz more visibility on the user created page. That's really all it's good for. They absolutely suck for gameplay.

	Maine came into the union as part of the Missouri Compromise. I knew if I wasn't guessing Missouri then I shouldn't guess Maine.

	I knew Maine wasn't in the original 13, but figured it was early enough to make it into the top 20. Guess I don't know the state quarters very well.

	I'm not American, so I simply guessed them to begin with. After I saw that some on the the east coast were correct, I clicked all of the ones in that area and Maine tripped me up. Took me 11 times to get all of them correct!

	This quiz is technically wrong. Ohio applied for statehood but congress officialy forgot to declare them a state. So when they found the document in DC of ohio applying for statehood unsigned in 1953, they officialy became the 48th state, certainly not in the top 20
