I guess a lot of people from Pennsylvania like St. Patrick's Day. Nice quiz. Like the color scheme. ;)

Thanks, gwukelic, glad you enjoyed it! And as for the color scheme, ya can't do St. Patty's Day without the green! ;-D

Cool quiz. But FYI, when shortened, it's St. Paddy's Day, not Patty's.

Thanks, Ihm! I've actually seen both spellings used- if you check out the source link, that one includes both spellings in the info header at the top.

istalkblink- Again, let me refer you to the link. You can also do a search online and see both spellings used in news stories. Although really, who cares how the shortened holiday name is spelled? I only used the shortened name because "St. Patrick's Day" in full wouldn't fit in the title slot.

wow, people are passionate about 'paddy.' both are fine. this link shows that 'patty' is a nickname for patrick or patricia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patty_(disambiguation).

i care b/c my name is Patrick and i dont appreciate people spelling it wrong. if you ask people from Ireland (especially people named Patrick, like a cousin of mine that lives there) they'll tell you that it's spelled "Paddy"

To istalkblink: the point is, 'patty' isn't wrong, it's just different. your way (or your cousin's way) isn't always the right way. and it's still not the point of this quiz anyhow.

fine, but all i'm saying is that no self-respecting man named Patrick will spell their name PaTTy

"Patty" IS wrong. It's not an alternate; it's just a mistake. I defy you to find anyone who uses "Patty" for someone named Patrick. "St. Patty's Day" would be the feastday of St. Patricia, which is August 25. And sure, you will find sites on the internet that spell the name incorrectly, but that doesn't make it okay.
