| @bmo1616 I'm a Yankees fan (don't vote me down just for that, I promise I won't be annoying), and it still confuses me how most teams can use "the Yankees buy all their players" as a valid reason to hate them. (Honestly, just hate us because of the steroid use from 04-07.) The Red Sox needed to get Ramirez, Ortiz, Schilling, Beckett, JD Drew, etc to win their 2 World Series. The 06 Cardinals needed Larry Walker, David Eckstein, Chris Carpenter, etc. Not many teams win championships these days without getting a significant number of their players from free agency. The Yankees are no better or worse than the other teams that do this. Hey, it's better than the Yankees front office just keeping the money for themselves, right? At least they are always trying to win. If you have extra money, you should try to improve your team. Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals, Dodgers, and a lot of teams in other sports are all guilty of this. |
