	Yes, but of course, a palindrome can be a word as well. There is a mathematical algorithm for coming up with a palindrome most of the time which you can read about on Wikipedia; the article is, "palindromic number"

	You need to add "of integers" to the end of the description for irrational. Irrational numbers can still be expressed as fractions; e.g. themselves/1.

	Keep in mind, the definition of a rational number is such that it must be of the form m/n, where m and n are integers and n is nonzero. In your example, m is not an integer.

	Also, keep in mind that these are hints, and not exact definitions. It would be quite cluttered if we were to list every possible exception/trivial case!

	I think "palindromic number" should, in fact, be an acceptable answer - I tried that first, before trying just "palindrome." Also, in the series of numbers you have where "mode" is the correct answer, since it's the lowest 3 would also be the minimum. You might want to have one value in the population be lower than 3 so that it's clear the relevant property is the repetition, rather than the fact that it's the lowest. Thanks for the quiz!

	gfcx, that was my point. I know full well that m would not be an integer in my example, but it is a counterexample to your hint as worded. If your hint included "of integers", it would be correct, but all numbers, rational or irrational can be written as a fraction of something, so no numbers satisfy your hint as worded.

	The "even numbers" one was very misleading. By listing several numbers, I was thinking along the lines of sequence or arithmetic sequence. Try instead: a number that yields a whole number when divided by 2 or something like that.

	gfcx5421: You're right about percent, but so is simpleerrors. Suppose you are told that 5 out of 25 apples are green. How do you find out what percent of apples are green? You divide 5 by 25 and then multiply by 100 to get 20%. Or in other words, you solve for x in: 5/25 = x/100. So it's not right to say, "Dividing by 100 gives you this." You could, however, say: "Dividing this by 100 gives you the fractional equivalent."

	@TimeAndTide: 0.25 is synonymous to 25%. Although one normally doesn't think of it, the symbol "%" implies "divided by 100." The number 25 on its own has nothing to do with a percent (well technically it's 2500%, but you get the idea). So in your example, you'd get 0.2, which is the percentage, and then put it in more aesthetic terms by adding the function % to 20.

	I overlooked the fact that 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 ... etc. was a series of even numbers. I think you should accept "arithmetic sequence" as an acceptable answer, if only for my pride more than anything.

	It should be noted that the answers don't really qualify as "symbols" like the columns are labelled. "Addition" is not a symbol, etc.

	I do agree with some of the suggestions above though. Irrational needs to be changed to cannot be written as a fraction of integers. @simpleerrors: The definition fo percent is correct as is. A percent is a ratio that compares a number to 100 (meaning it is a number divided by 100). @Doctor_Tom: Range and mode are are completely different. Range is the difference between the highest and lowest value. Mode is the number that appears the most often.

	Good quiz! A few suggestions... The first four questions are rather more complicated than the answer. How about using `plus', `minus', `times' and `divide' or even +-x÷ in the questions? Palindrome seems rather weak, since they're not really used in mathematics, outside of puzzles. Protractor, is also a bit poor: angles are mathematical but I don't think a protractor is mathematics any more than a pencil or a piece of paper. I'd also try to give definitions for mode and median, rather than examples. Oh, and a pentagon could still have four equal sides and four equal angles (good thinking, Patisteas): you need to say `quadrilateral' instead of `polygon' If you do take out palindrome and protractor, you could maybe add something like `hexagon' and `hypotenuse'?
