| The current Senators franchise haven't won any cups. The teams listed above are NHL championship-era Stanley Cup winners only (1926-27 - onward), plus the original Ottawa Senators, for some reason. The Mighty Ducks/Ducks have won 1 cup (2006-2007), as have the Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes franchise, as the Hurricanes (2005-2006). If you include defunct teams the original Ottawa Senators won 1 cup during the NHL-only period (1926-27) but so did the Montreal Maroons (1934-35). If the 1914-15 - 1925-26 competing leagues era is included (can't tell if it is here as the number of cups for each franchise isn't included but given that they seem to be arranged in order of most cups won and Ottawa is listed above say, the Flyers that seems to be the case, though if so Pittsburgh should be listed ahead of Colorado and Philadelphia) you'd have to add 3 more cups for the original Senators but also one for the Vancouver Millionaires, one for the Seattle Metropolitans, one for the Victoria Cougars and one more for the Maroons (none of this includes the 1893-1914 pre-NHL Stanley Cup challenge period of course). So either these teams (Vancouver/Seattle/Victoria/the Maroons) should also be listed or Ottawa should be removed/changed order (and the Maroons added) above. It would also be nice to be able to get a perfect score on the quiz rather than having one invisible answer :) |
