Correctly named cities will show up below
Answers do not have to be guessed in order
Game isn't based on my opinion but on a list from a well-respected magazine so I can't effect who's on the list. Based on high taxes, bad sports, long commutes, unemployment, poor weather, crime, etc.

Tell me if the time is adequate, or if you think i should change the rank column to something more helpful like the state of the city or its current population.

I don't see why high income tax should be a cause of misery. The Scandinavian countries have some of the highest tax rates anywhere, yet rank consistently among the happiest and most livable countries in the world. I know that correlation doesn't imply causality, but it is suggestive.

the Scandinavian countries use that income tax to put in socialized programs which pay for their citizens to attend government funded universities and receive government funded healthcare. in the USA it goes towards stuff more along the lines of paying government debt and paving roads

Dang two whole cities impacted by The LeBron Effect? Still, Miami doesn't fare much better, I mean, imagine having to live in a place with year-round sun, beautiful beaches & women, great restaurants, bars & clubs, spectacular buildings... most be terrible!

geowiz, you forgot to add 'dropping bombs on and sending hundreds of thousands of troops into foreign countries' but yes, correct. High income taxes are quite miserable when your government wastes what it collects. Safe to say Scandinavian countries spend that money a little differently.

cuendillar: you're guilty of post hoc ergo propter hoc. Scandinavian culture is much different from American culture, and what works (or seems to work, given the fact that Scandinavia's "happiness and livability" is coupled with some of the highest suicide rates in the world) does not work for Americans, who don't wish to live the way Scandinavians do. I can tell you from bitter experience that the high tax rates in Chicago lead to a very poor quality of life.

I didn't know that LeBron James could make an entire city more unlivable. This is crap, Forbes.

I would rather shovel snow here in Buffalo, than pick up pieces of my house after a hurricane, earthquake, or tornado.

@ Chocolatl: The only Scandi country with a high suicide rate is Finland. The others are all in the same range as most first world countries including, you guessed it, the US.

My life really isn't affected in a negative way if some guys from my city lose at sports.

Yeah, I don't think it's a good concept. I really disagree with Forbes. The fact that Baltimore and Washington aren't here is ridiculous. Also, Camden should DEFINITELY be here, highest murder rate in the country (and by a pretty significant margin).

I think it's silly to include sports in rankings like this. That's not to say that I don't agree that some people can be emotionally effected by sports outcomes (it happens) but moreso because fans of sports teams aren't necessarily centrally located where the team plays their home games. Case in point, I'm a Chargers and Padres fan but I live in Arkansas.

Sounds like the Cleveland description fits Detroit better than the one Forbes assigned to that latter city. Brutal winters? Check. High crime? Yikes. Tortured sports history? One word: Lions. Massive loss of people? Yep. As we say, "Last one out of Michigan, turn off the lights." But I do love my state. :)

Detroit has the Lions but they also have the Pistons and Red Wings. The Tigers aren't that bad as of late either. What does Cleveland have? The Indians? Browns? The James-less Cavs?

the results showed that this quiz was pretty hard, plus the reason hints i got from forbes were sort of vague. so ive added the cities respective states to make it more manageable.
