| @koopa08: Palau only has one capital. Koror was the capital up until 2006, when they moved it to the village of Ngerulmud. A lot of people seem to think Melekeok is the new capital, this is not correct. Melekeok and Ngerulmud are two separate villages, about two kilometres apart. Both villages are located in Melekeok state though, that may be why some people got it wrong, since a lot of other Pacific states have the entire atoll where their government resides as their official capital, instead of the actual village (Funafuti and South Tarawa, for example). |
