These density estimates are based on the city statistics, not the metro population. As you will see from the second column in the quiz, some of Americas largest cities are merely vast suburbs.

This looks more like "name the 60 biggest cities" since density isn't really heavy in Oklahoma City, etc.

You should definitely include a source...I'm sure one wouldn't be too hard to find for this kind of data.

The units for density are not "square miles"; it should be "person/square mile" or something like that.

Yes it should only be top 10 or 20 - and perhaps should use metro area. I'd say sprawling cities such as Los Angeles, Houston & Phoenix shouldn't be anywhere near such a list!

@th444 - But LA is actually fairly dense - it's in the top ten.

@tbh444, Los Angeles, despite its sprawling reputation, is actually the most densely populated metropolitan area in the United States, ahead even of New York city. As for the quiz, I agree that it's really just guessing the 60 largest cities in the country, but I really like the idea.

Could you provide a source? A basic check shows that some of these numbers don't make any sense. For example: Miami actually has nearly 7,400 people per square mile (over 12,100 if you only count the land).
