	The problem with using metro areas is that in many cases the area covers more than one state. By using city proper it is contained to one state.

	Great quiz and concept!!! A good strategy is this: Start with the obvious big ones, then go to the states with small cities, then to try to get some sense of order for the ones pretty close in size, try to do a couple in the middle. I was pretty sure Minnesota (Minneapolis) would be near the middle, so once I knew where it ended up I could locate others I wasn't sure on by whether I thought their largest cities were bigger or smaller than Minneapolis.

	Even if metro areas do sometimes cross state lines there is pretty much always a "primary" state that most people would agree the city is in. I think metros are better- but it's ok if that's just me.

	I guess one method to solve the city proper/metro area controversy would be to use the metro area, but only for the portions of the metro area which lie within the state for each clue. It might require using some basic GIS software, but it could be done.

	i think it would be helpful to include the populations as a given hint, b/c personally i know the size of places ive been to (like des moines), so i couldve jumped to it (and entered iowa) and gotten a couple more

	Looked up Kansas City, Missouri for city proper, metro, and urban. Found out the mayor is Mark Funkhouser. I miss "Curb" already.

	I agree with the people who suggested metro populations, or at least specify what data you're using. I mean, Charlotte over Boston and Atlanta? Who would have gotten that without guessing around for a while?

	Maybe I'm the only one, but I saw "states_largest_metro" in the source so I thought it was about metro areas... Wisconsin so high and Connecticut so low surprised me a bit, but I guessed that's just because of city proper.

	34/50 on the first try, not bad considering that I'm not American, but what's really freaky is that I correctly got the first eight in perfect order just from some educated guessing. After that though, it didn't go so well, but for a while there I thought I was in the Twilight Zone or something!

	You need Metro population. There is no way in hell Jacksonville is the biggest city in Florida. Very misleading. Good idea, but poorly executed.

	@Dylan1226...Miami is indeed the largest metro in Florida by far...but Jacksonville city proper has more than twice as many people as Miami city proper. Look it up.

	This quiz should be updated with the results of the 2010 census. Charlotte is larger than Detroit now.

	The city proper estimate for Philly in 2008 was 1.54M. Not sure where you got such a low number from, since the last time the census had Philly under 1.5M was 1999. And yes, you should really just update for the 2010 census since a lot of the 2008 estimates turned out to be way off.
