	The reference where I got this quiz from only listed the above 4 countries. And the dictionary says it is two syllables.

	yeah ive always heard it pronounced louse, but dictionary.com has alternate pronunciations of both 1 and 2 syllables....maybe have it as a bonus answer?

	I would say Laos should be an answer for this one as well as the 2-syllable quiz. Apparently both pronunciations are acceptable, although I've only ever heard "Louse" used.

	I am adding Laos as a bonus answer just to end the argument. The English translation is lā'ŏs', but the people there pronounce it lous.

	It is pronounced "Lao" and spelled "Lao" in Lao. It is pronounced "Lao" and spelled "Laos" in French. The pronunciation "Louse" is a bastardization of the French version.

	I've always pronounced it 'lao' but I think 'louse' is also acceptable. I don't think 'lay-oss' is right, so it's odd that it's in the dictionary. Is that maybe an American pronunciation? (I'm British.) I think in this debate you should list where your from and how they pronounce it there. :)
