Also allow US Naval Academy as well as United States Naval Academy, etc. And why Air University and not, say, the Naval Postgraduate School, the Naval War College, the Army War College, Naval Prep, etc.?

The Naval War College and Army War College are colleges specifically for high ranking officers in the military, not for a civilian to attend. All of these schools have civilian students whose end goal is to commission into the military, therefore the Naval War College and Army War College would not fit the categories.

FYI Virginia Tech and Texas A&M count as "senior military colleges," like VMI and the Citadel. They used to be all military but transitioned into larger civilian schools (but retain their corps of cadets).
