| Technically, the dutch variant "Sinterklaas" is another person than santa claus. We know both phenomenons here in Belgium and Sinterklaas points to another guy. While Santa Claus lives in the Cold parts of our planet, Sinterklaas lives in Spain and has a totally different tradition around his person. It must be said that the dutch variant "Kerstman" isn't very much celebrated here. We know him, but most people just make it a cosy evening with the family, usually without the packages, since they are at Sinterklaas's day. (Which is at 6th december anyways)
So in short... Sinterklaas must be Kerstman ;p |
