For Dasht-e Kavir and Dasht-e Lut, just Kavir and Lut should maybe be acceptable as requiring the "Dasht-e" part is like requiring that you write the word "Desert" for the rest of them.

So happy to see another map-based geography game on here! These are always more fun than just typing in lists of countries.

"Empty Quarter" should be accepted for Rub al-Khali.

Only got four. I'm from Australia and I only knew one Australia desert. I'd do better on world desserts.

Seconding the need for an "Empty Quarter" alternative. I actually tried spelling it the Arabic way, but put down "rub al kali" and then figured they didn't have it when it didn't work.

Saw this quiz on my facebook minifeed. Thought it said "desserts." Tried "Apfel Strudel" and "Apple Pie" before giving up. Also, am drunk.

I knew there was an obviously named desert, it turns out it wasn't called the Really Dry Desert, but something with even less effort put into naming!

@antiomi - I had the same thought. Negev would have gotten me a measly five instead of the four that I got...ouch.

Kept trying Sonora without the n, dang it. Also? The Kalahari isn't a dessert, it's only semi-arid.

Said Numidian when I meant Nubian. Surprised Taklamakan is low on most guessed, that one sticks in my head.

Allowing Empty Quarter would have raised my score to 8, and Arabia Deserta to 9. These were hard.

I missed two because I didn't put the 'n' at the end (Sonoran and Chihuahuan). I'm thinking they should be acceptable with or without the 'n'.

There seems to be a lot more deserts now than when I was at school ;)? . I remembered the Sahara , Atacama , Arabian , Kalahari , Namib and Gobi . Where did the rest come from ? This global warming thing is getting serious :( Why do Americans name a desert after a dog ?

Ordos desert is too far south on the map.
