	OK, I had to look up the answers in the Javascript to figure out how to type in an acceptable answer for Aerolíneas Argentinas, because the quiz doesn't accept "Aerolineas Argentinas" with an unaccented "i". I needed to type "Argentina Air". This is highly unusual for a Sporcle quiz; usually, if you type in an answer leaving off the accents, it is treated as correct.

	I was surprised not to find Singapore Air on this list. I flew it many times growing up and found it to be probably the best airline in the entire world, and I have flown most of the major airlines, including most on this list.

	No Aeroflot? Also, should "ANA" be acceptable for "All Nippon Airways"? I remember a commercial from years ago where they had different people saying "My name is ANA."

	Since when were Alaska Airlines and Transair major airlines. The trouble with sporcle is that it is so US centric. How can you have a quiz about major airlines and not include Air india or Singapore Airlines or Virgin Atlantic or Aeroflot Flying to Alaska hardly qualifies as major

	I kept typing in "Air Maroc" and variations thereof, then I find out the answer is ROYAL Air Maroc. I think if Nippon is sufficient for All Nippon Airways, then Air Maroc should be sufficient too, it's not like there is an Air Maroc AND a Royal Air Maroc.

	@jkd: SeaTac is actually the name of the town Alaska has its headquarters in. It used to be the unincorporated area around the Seattle-Tacoma airport, and when they incorporated, they chose as their name the nickname for the airport, mid-word capitalization and all, but no hyphen. Alaska Airlines is not small (it is bigger than either Mexican airline, for example), but yes, I was surprised to not see Singapore in the list.

	I too find it weird that SIA is not on the quiz. They indeed are major carrier. And NWA and Delta are not yet the same. This quiz would be even better if it would represent the whole world. It atleast should have Aeroflot.

	Air Transat is way too small to be on a list of major carriers. Even Finnair is larger. 9W, AI, IT, SQ, SU, VS... should be there.

	Skywest? Really? They are not a major airline. Not in any sense of the definition. They do not sell tickets, but rather fly other carriers routes. Skywest is a REGIONAL airline

	In fact this is a direct quote from the skywest.com website after clicking on reservations "To book a reservation on a SkyWest operated flight, please visit one of our partner’s websites. All reservations for SkyWest flights are booked through Delta Air Lines, United Airlines or Midwest Airlines."

	i'm assuming these are random... it'd be cooler to see a list of the 100 biggest by destinations, flights, history, whatever. As for the RAM comments... they're actually a company that always goes by their full name. "Royal" is always there. Also, more fun to guess ones that don't have the name of a country in it... Malev, CSA, Yemenia, Jet, etc...

	I knew the Moroccan airline had the word "royal" in it somewhere, but just couldn't remember the actual name :( Like others, I wondered about Virgin Airlines, I thought sure they would be there. Also, what became clear to me after doing this quiz is that it's been far too long since I've flown anywhere - many of the airlines I remember aren't even in business anymore!

	Skywest is good - they have more destinations than many of the other carriers on this list. They do fly under their own name a bit, but the vast majority are under other flags.

	Air Transat doesn't really belong; it's mostly a hybrid charter airline that does packaged holiday routes. If you want to list a second Canadian airline, WestJet would be a much better choice. And SkyWest??? Really?

	In reference to the complaints about Alaska Airlines, it is ignorant to quickly brush it off as an airline that flies from Seattle to Alaska. It is often included in lists of major airlines as it is one of the main airlines up and down the west coast of the US/Canada/Mexico.

	this list should really be updated. a few of these airlines no longer exist (either merged or went bankrupt i.e. mexicana)/hold the same quality as a major airline as they one were

	I was recently working on some airline quizzes, so I know how tough it is to compile a list of the most important world airlines. There are so many different ways to measure it: number of flights flown, number of kilometers flown, number of passengers flown, number of passenger kilometers flown, number of airplanes, SkyTrax star rating, profitability... No matter what you do, somebody will be disappointed by the list. That said, I am disappointed with this one. Any good list ends up being incredibly Asia-heavy.
