Great......and it took forever to remember the name of the main kid....I got all the others right away. I can't believe it took me so long to remember his name, and I've read the books and seen the first movie. The second movie was too weird.

love the book - and easily got all the children -Gene Wilder film was so much better than the Johnny Depp travesty!

I bet Charlie is the least-gotten name of the bunch.

I understand it's spelled "Teavee" in the book and the 2005 film, but you might consider "Teevee" as an alternate spelling since that's how it was spelled in the 1971 film.

I can't see why Charlie should be the least gotten name - his name's in the title of the book!

@ElDavo and Fergus: Charlie is the *most* given answer, at over 97%; the others are each in the mid-to-high sixties.

Amusing that Dahl should write a character called M. Teavee seventeen years before the founding of the TV station.

I'm glad the quiz accepts first names; I was totally spelling "Teavee" and "Beauregarde" wrong. (Didn't think of the e at the end of Beauregarde)

I forgot Veruca. AHH! Loved the remake, by the way. The original was an insult to the book.

It's nice of Sporcle to give us this fairly straightforward quiz on the same day as the ridiculously difficult street suffixes quiz.

Love the book, and the films were almost as good (Gene Wilder was so much better though). But I agree with Patrick, last names would be good as the first names are far too easy.

Darn you Augustus, why did your name disappear from my brain!? Fun quiz. I'll admit to recently watching the remake, though I don't think I liked it all that much.

I too love the book, but I like both movies. I didn't like the second movie as much at first, but upon further viewing, I do think it better reflects Dahl's work. The squirrel scene is priceless.

Love the original movie. Johnny Depp was not nearly as good as Gene Wilder, he was born to play that part.

I only got the names because of the Oompa-Loompa songs - those were hysterical. I love the book, and both movies. Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp both portrayed the character very differently, but they're both good actors, and each performance brings out a different part of Willy Wonka. And I gotta agree with Booger about that squirrel scene - that was my favorite part of the whole movie! Anyway, good quiz

I'm upset Veruca Salt is the least guessed - she's the only one with a band named after her... (and they were great) Seether, anyone?

The second movie was one of my favorite movies of all time. Johnny Depp was amazing in it. The first one was also good as was the book but the 2nd movie brought it to another level.

"A little nonsense now and then, relished by the wisest men." Gene Wilder is a comedic genius. The original favors artistic, whimsical integrity over literary accuracy, and thank god. Burton's version is a mess.
