| @mccat: Bcoz back in the days of the 'star system' all studios, espec. the biggest, MGM ("More stars than there are in the Heavens"), also had under contract a large roster of character actors; many made well over a hundred films (sometimes hundreds if they appeared in 'quickie serials'). Some even won Best Supporting Oscars if they got that one juicy plum role, but most were content to make a very nice salary w/out caring about or groomed to become 'stars'. |
