	My knowledge of horse racing let me get Yakima (Yakima Meadows), Auburn (Emerald Downs), and Renton (Longacres). Finally, knowledge of obscure defunct tracks (and Emerald Downs) comes in handy. Not to mention Seattle Slew....

	Great quiz, but I thought the Sporcle folks were doing these state quizzes in order of population -- is that the case, didn't we skip over North Carolina, New Jersey and Virginia?

	@ Stephen Sides: North Carolina, New Jersey and Virginia are already in the queue. I believe Sporcle chose to do Washington first because the powers that be at Sporcle are located in Washington State.

	@John2 - why would it be weird to do Washington before Massachusetts? They're both almost exactly the same population. New Jersey perhaps I can see because it's slightly larger, but I don't really see why that would matter all that much. I'm sure all states will be done eventually.

	I heard once that Seattle does not actually get that much rain. It's yearly rainfall is about the same as New York City. What it does have a lot of are cloudy days. Weeks and weeks on end of overcast skies.

	Almost missed Lakewood and Spokane Valley, but got the top 20 in my home state. Washington is the 3rd (or maybe 4th, behind Arizona) most populous state west of the Mississippi, after California and Texas. Seattle is the 14th largest metro area, with over 3.5 million people. Though it's very cloudy, and rains a lot of days, Seattle gets less rain (37 inches) than New York City, Boston, Miami, Charlotte, DC, Atlanta, Houston, Cleveland, Nashville, St. Louis, and Honolulu. In the much drier desert east, Spokane gets 16 inches and Yakima gets 9 inches.

	North Carolina, Virginia, and New Jersey are all more populous than Washington is. But I guess the Sporcle guys were a bit biased in publishing their state first. But they probably did well on it.

	If you're wondering why the population of Seattle is so small, remember the city has limited land mass because it's on an isthmus. The metro area population much more sizable at 3,344,813.

	I once compiled a table of all the state capitals that weren't the largest cities in their states (about two-thirds of them, decreased by one temporarily while Baton Rouge housed more people than post-Katrina New Orleans). Olympia held by far the lowest rank within its own state's population of any state capital.

	So many suburbs of Seattle... 9-13 of them are suburbs or Seattle itself (depending on whether you count Everett, Tacoma, Lakewood and Olympia). Glad to see Kent on a quiz. :) Spokane Valley seems sort of made up though, even though I got it.

	There's no way any of those cities are suburbs of Seattle, John. Sure they are on the I-5 corridor, but that's about it. Anyways, got 19/20, missed Spokane Valley, I didn't even think it was a separate city :( Then again, I live in Tacoma and have no reason to go east.
