	During the entirety of Pearl Harbor, there was no war, as war was not declared by either the United States or Japan until December 8. I will, however, admit that the movie was a war waged against those who like good movies.

	There are times you get to act surprised that so few people got Lawrence of Arabia, and then there are times that you forget Gone With The Wind. There is no overlap.

	I love Casablanca, but come on...I guess it's SET during a war, but there are pretty much no war elements. Could also have included "A Bridge Too Far," "Bridge on the River Kwai," "Das Boot," "Grave of Fireflies," "Gods and Generals," "Dr. Strangelove," or even "The Last Samurai," since it's probably more accurate than Braveheart. Also, Tom Cruise, 2008 could possibly be "Tropic Thunder," which is a direct send-up of a lot of these other movies.

	Even more surprised that only 35% got Deer Hunter. That's a movie that stays with you, no matter how hard you try & forget... Got 24 & was kicking myself because I couldn't remeber the name of Defiance--- I could describe the plot, but the name of the thing escaped, maybe with Daniel Craig in to the forest!

	@JohnJF: While I agree that Pearl Harbor was a lousy movie, don't forget that the Doolittle raid, which figured prominently in the film, occurred after the declaration of war. Now, what about "A walk in the sun" one of my favorite war films.

	@JohnJF: Pearl Harbor happened during the war. WWII started in 1939 Pearl Harbor was in 1941. Just because the US didn't yet declare war doesn't mean the war was not going on. @Haunter: Casablanca had war elements in it. Spies going through Morocco to get information to the Allies sounds like war to me. Just because there were no battles doesn't mean it isn't a war movie (i.e. Jarhead). And the fact that Casablanca was made while the war was still going on is very impressive.

	It doesn't boast the volume of WW2's film output, but WW1 was the setting for some of the all-time greats. Lawrence of Arabia, All Quiet on the Western Front, and Paths of Glory (not on the quiz, but as good as any war movie I've seen)

	This quiz is at least skewed and probably put up by some American guy. The most famous European WWII movies are not in the list, like 'A bridge too far', 'The longest day' and what about 'The guns of Navarone'? And if Casablanca is in the list, you could put in Indiana Jones as well.

	@Haunter: Casablanca included a flashback to Rick and Ilsa's days in ... Paris, I think ... the city where they met and fell in love as the tanks rolled in, as well as all the espionage and intrigue mentioned by chumley.
