| Kicking222 - The problem is that, in hindsight, Half-Life 2 is a dead wrong pick, and that should have been known then. WoW and Katamari Damacy are both clearly more influential, creative, and artistically significant games than Half-Life 2, which represents a sort of fine-tuning of a genre that had most of the work done by prior games, Half-Life itself included, and has egregious gameplay flaws beyond that, though what the flaws are depend on who you ask. (For my part, I cannot abide the vehicle sections, though I've a friend who despises Ravenholm, my favorite section of the game).
Similarly bewildering is the failure to give 2008's award to Portal, Bioshock, or Super Mario Galaxy, instead picking Call of Duty 4. |
