	@lulubelles, Bush was Governor of Texas before he became President. Both George H W Bush and Prescott Bush (GWB's Grandfather) were prominent Connecticut politicians.

	What's amazing to me is the number of presidents who didn't grow up in the states they were born in: Jackson, Polk, Lincoln, A. Johnson, Arthur, Cleveland, B. Harrison, Wilson, Eisenhower, Ford, G.W. Bush, and Obama. And several others made their names in other states than where they were raised. It just goes to show the mobility that has always existed in the US and that people on the move in the US really are people on the move.

	@ Whole Lotta Sporcle: George Washington was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was (I believe) a third generation American. He was British insofar as he considered himself an Englishman, until he decided that the American colonies should secede from England and he began to consider himself an American. But that goes for all of the Presidents whose political lives preceded the revolution. Bush is from Texas, but he (George H.W. Bush) was born in Massachusetts, or, if you are referring to George W. Bush, he is also from Texas, but he was born in Connecticut either while his father was attending Yale or right after he had graduated.

	I knew a lot were from Virginia, but I had no idea Ohio was so popular...probably because all those presidents sucked. I agree that abbreviations would be a lot better than spelling out each state every time...but it also makes it easier to just type "VA" over and over.

	I grew up in Ohio, and they definitely advertise themselves as "The Birthplace of Presidents". They left out the work "crappy", though ("ineffectual" would work as well). There is some dispute about WH Harrison, I think - both Virginia and Ohio claim him as their own (or did when I lived in OH). I got a lot by guessing Ohio for late 19th/early 20th century presidents.

	Many surprises on this quiz. I would of expected more presidents to be born in Pennsylvania or New York... And Ohio having so many presidents born there was a complete surprise. This was a fun quiz.

	Look, the State Department looks into these things MUCH more thoroughly than random people on the internet, and if there was any question whatsoever, they would not have allowed him to be sworn in. So he doesn't want to show it to the general public. I don't especially want to show mine to various and sundry either. Doesn't mean I wasn't born here. The head of Hawaii's health department vouches for him. Sounds irrefutable.

	1st comment ever Helps to guess the big states...if you know them. There are 2 states that account for 15 presidents. 4 states account for 23 presidents. A bunch, that I knew, are not what you might think: Reagan, Bushes, Lincoln (a log cabin, but where?)

	Those who believe that there should be no period in `Harry S. Truman' might wish to consider the following page on the Harry S. Truman Library website: http://www.trumanlibrary.org/speriod.htm Executive summary: Truman used the period, the Truman library uses the period, the U.S. Government Printing Office uses the period, the U.S. State Department uses the period. The Chicago Manual of Style recommends the period.

	I love how all these birth certificate "experts" come along claiming that a "Certificate of Live Birth" is not valid. How do you know it isn't valid? Or are you just copying some meme you read on rushlimbaugh.com There was also a mention of a birth between a Barack Obama (Sr) and an Ann Dunham in the Honolulu newspaper shortly after Obama's birth. He isn't releasing any other birth certificates because he released it already and it's been thoroughly checked and verified. The certificate on file also has been checked and verified. Do you really believe 100s of people participated in a 47-year conspiracy to get a Kenyan elected? Seriously...

	About the period on the "S", the S stands for nothing, so I used to think it had no period also. I changed my mind for good when I saw that it has a period on his tombstone in Independence.

	Why do we not have video of George W. Bush's birth? How can we be sure he wasn't actually a government experiment combining the genetic material from the several alien species held captive in Area 51 and hatched from an egg? Why will he not address this issue and just provide the video? Even a notarized affidavit from the attending physician and three witnesses who hold Top Secret-level security clearance would be acceptable. However, neither he nor his people will even give this totally legitimate controversy even a hint of consideration. How could we as a nation have let ourselves be led all this time by an obvious alien hybrid created by the Government? Why will he not simply provide the evidence we demand? The people have a right to know!
