I swear there was another game very similar to this one...can't quite remember which one it was though.

I can't tell if that was sarcasm or not, so I'll respond as if it wasn't. There was one that didn't include metro areas, us city limits. This one was a little different.

I missed Riverside. I would have guessed the last one was Milwaukee or San Jose. I didn't even know Riverside was that big.

DC and Baltimore are reversed from their actual locations. Good quiz otherwise.

actually it isn't, not on this list at least. It comes in 31st. Milwaukee isn't even all that close at #38.

30/30. Took me awhile to get Riverside, Sacramento and Orlando but finally got them through trial and error. Nice quiz.

27/30. I came up with Portland as soon as time ran out. Missed Portland, San Antonio, and Riverside-San Bernardino.

28 out of 30... missed Riverside like everyone else. And using sport franchises to get every other one made me miss Las Vegas.

Why was my original comment down-voted? The last population quiz (http://www.sporcle.com/games/uspopulouscities.php) was from quite a while ago. It's not like I was ridiculing Sporcle for making an identical quiz. My memory was foggy and I knew something was different about this quiz, but I couldn't tell what it was. A simple answer such as "This quiz was asking about the mtro areas" would have suffice. Not everyone lives in the USA. God some of you people are sheep.

Well, the title of the quiz is "U.S. Metro Areas"...

This quiz is much more difficult than the other one if you're not from the U.S. I would never have guessed Tampa, St. Louis, etc. And I didn't even know there was a Riverside.
It seems I've learned a lot about geography recently. and it's all thanks to sporcle :)

Actually I think this is easier than the other one. I got 27, silly me missed DC (I feel dumb) and I thought "There must be an answer in Oregon..." and the answer never came. The only one I couldn't have guessed was Riverside-San Bernardino.

FINALLY. Thank you Sporcle! Now, how about deleting "US Populous Cities" so we can all forgive and forget? El Paso. Ha Ha!!

We need a "Top 30 Most Populous Metro Areas of Canada" quiz. That would be epic.

naming all the cities of MLB teams will get you 24/30. Sacramento, Portland and Las Vegas are AAA cities San Antonio has a AA team Riverside and Orlando are A-ball markets (probably too close to LA and tampa to ever have high-level baseball teams)

24/30, I got stumped on a few easier ones like St. Louis, and like everyone else, missed Riverside. To be honest I've never even heard of that place!

I was surprised to see Riverside pop up. I was stuck on the last two (never guessed Orlando...brain fart) But I randomly put in Riverside almost facetiously and was surprised to have gotten it.

Would've gotten them all first try if I could spell Cincinnati or San Bernardino, because I tried (butchered versions of) both of those.

30/30 first try. To be fair, I have worked on projects using metro areas before, so that's how I knew Riverside-San Bernardino were separate from LA.

Great quiz. One correction though. The star for Philadelphia is in the wrong place. It should be moved to the Southeast near the NJ border.

30/30 :) I was one of the people lobbying for a metro area quiz when the city one came up (because cities like Atlanta and Miami weren't on it). I live in LA but am from Missouri so that helped with the obscures ones :)
