Very nice quiz. Missed 2 from 1850, and stumbled upon the Central American country, but overall did pretty well. Took a while for me to get the correct spelling of the Philippines, XD.

It's interesting to see the shift of countries of origin from 1930 to 2000. You go from mainly one region of the world to two distinctly different regions. Good informative quiz!

This is a great quiz, but I am a pretty smart guy and I spent the first few minutes trying to think of countries which AMERICANS had immigrated TO. It would be a good idea to rephrase the description to make it clear that you are looking for the most common BIRTHPLACES of current American residents.

Got all of them, but I didn't get Canada right away, lol. The last one I got was Czechoslovakia, on a limb. dsee, there are a number of Japanese in Hawaii/California but of all the East Asian countries, I'm pretty sure they have the lowest # of immigrants to the US. Even on the east coast you'd be hard-pressed to find many Japanese people.

Great quiz. Surprised at how many missed that Central American country. Surprisingly, I got more of the older years and missed one each in the middle and last columns.

Amazing how every single country but Mexico and barely Canada jumped from top 10 in 1930 to off the 2000 list. Then again geographic location might have something to do with it...

Would be interesting to compare the numbers as a percentage of the original country's population. Sweden 1930 must be close to 10% by my reckoning. Ireland 1850 and El Salvador 2000 are probably pretty high too.

Yeah, Canada was not immediately obvious to me for some reason, despite being the States' direct neighbour to the north. Go figure.

I wish I could spell better I could do more!! Swedan no. its Sweden.. I think Switzerland showed up in the 1930s because people were getting citizenship through there to escape the Nazi regime in Germany. I don't think it was Swiss nationals.

Wow, surprised at all the Filipinos--you'd think I'd have gotten that since my sister-in-law's from the Philippines, and also since there was a big American presence there for so long... Oh, and I'm one of those Korean-born people, holla! (Came here when I was a baby, though.)

In the 2000s, Mexico is like 6.5 million people ahead of everyon else. That is pretty cool, yet shows all the illegal immigrants that actually come here. Those are LEGAL immigrants, as far as I know they don't count illegal immigrants.

Great quiz...i also would have figured Japan would be on the list...especially in 1930 because it was a couple years after Hirohito came to power.

I'm curious why 1930 was chosen for this quiz and not 1900 at the peak of US immigration.

History?! Not that I'm complaining. This quiz should be renamed - 'Let's see who can name enough countries in 5 minutes' It worked for me :)
