"City of Angels" isn't triggered when you type in just the city name.

I was about to complain about that but it had been fixed by the time I tested it again. :-) Nice quiz.

Los Angeles is still wrong. Los Angeles is the correct spelling yet you still have to type in Las Angeles to get the correct answer. It does show up correctly on the bottom though.

"Saint" should be an acceptable alternate for "St."

Wow, I guessed my way through this rather well, got 18. Bit annoyed my time ran out when I was halfway through typing "Pittsburgh" (another wild guess.) PS. Hershey's chocolate is rubbish when compared to anything European so I would disagree that it could be the chocolate capital of the world :P

Cool quiz, even for a Canadian, as I got 100%. Got 21/22 easily, then just guessed a bunch of random large cities until I got Austin lol. I'm surprised Reno is the 2nd least answered question, thought that one was common knowledge.

I got all but Live Music Capital...while I'm sitting here with "Slacker" playing on my television...and it's the end, where they're at a bar...watching live music. No kidding.

Have never heard of "The Big Pineapple" as Honolulu and a google search confirms that this is very obscure and very unofficial at best. Google "Big Pineapple" Honolulu and you'll get 372 results. This one needs to go.

Should have Scranton as the "Electric City" for Office fans. One big miss was Portland, the "City of Roses".

You must've done something wrong. I typed in the same thing in a search and got over 200k results. I knew it was the Big Pineapple from my grandmother who I've never met, she sent me a postcard once and it said 'The Big Pineapple' on the front of it. Obscure how you'll find help in all kinds of places.

@beckleyman: If you include quotes around "Big Pineapple", you only get three hundred and some results. You get a lot more without the quotes. OTOH, the nickname isn't mentioned on the wikipedia pages for either Big Pineapple or Honolulu.

Nice quiz! and a welcome break since I've been attempting to conquer the 'Countries of the World" quiz for the past 45 minutes. I only got "The Steel City" because of the Pittsburgh Steelers and "The Brew State" because of the Milwaukee Brewers. lol

Ben: Just because something is listed in Wikipedia does not make it true. Heck, I can make Washington, DC's nickname "The City of the Spitzer Spritzer" on Wikipedia right now if I want to.

Doesn't change the fact that it is very obscure and unofficial. Heck, the only other one people don't seem to know, Austin's, that title is listed on the city's official webpage. If anything, this title is a joke that a few citizens have put on it that is anything but widespread knowledge, judging by other responses, including someone who lives in Honolulu.

@Booger Reminds me of Colbert talking about adding something to the entry on elephants to read "the population of elephants has tripled in recent years thanks to Stephen Colbert"

Honestly, is it that big a stretch to think a city called The Big Pineapple might be Honolulu? I've never heard of it either but I still got it on the first guess.

Good quiz but there is a difference between official, well-accepted nicknames and those put forward by the chamber of commerce hoping to stick. Some I expected to see: Portland (Rose City, as noted); Hartford, Insurance City; Atlanta, the Big Peach; Cincinnati, Queen City; Memphis, Birthplace of the Blues.

Am I the only one who does this? I got 21 bang-bang-bang, skipping only Austin. Then I spent 4-5 minutes just typing in EVERY TOWN/CITY I could think of. I was beginning to sweat when my brain finally got to Texas w/ 1:14 on the clock, after trying such musically-challenged cities such as Hartford, Albuquerque, and Dover. FUN QUIZ.

@Booger: If you look at the Wikipedia article in question, you'll see two reliable citations (a Honolulu newspaper and a local magazine) for the term "Big Pineapple". Yes, anyone can put anything on Wikipedia but vandalism is usually removed quickly and its very hard to fake reliable citations.

Roswell is where there was supposedly a UFO crash long ago. They claim the government covered it all up and now everyone there is alien crazy. Thus making it the alien capital of the world.

@ BlueEyedAlien-the problem with the nickname 'the Queen City' is that there are more than one that uses it. I know Cincy does, as well as Charlotte.

@Bakeoke-do you live in the US? If you do, I'm not sure how you could miss Roswell. I mean, it had a TV show named after it.
